9. Installation and Connection of the Switch
Please read the following paragraphs and execute the steps in the indicated
order to avoid improper installation.
• Please place the network switch over a stable place or desktop.
• Never open the casing of the network switch even in the event of power
failure.
• The network switch may only be operated with the included power supply
and must be connected to the correct voltage range that matches the mains
voltage indicated in the feature label of the network switch.
• Please ensure that there is good air circulation around the network switch.
Switch Connection
The network switch is powered by the external power supply.
Power supply:
connect the hollow plug of the supplied plug-in power supply to the DC IN
socket on the back of the network switch. Connect the power supply to a power
outlet. Check if the power indicator lights up. When power is on, the power
supply is guaranteed.
The power supply can only be connected to a mains voltage of 100 - 240 V, 50-
60 Hz. The power supply must always be within reach and be easily accessible
in order to disconnect the device from the mains. The power cables must not be
damaged or crushed by any type of objects. Connect the power supply only to
a properly installed power outlet! Avoid using multiple plugs!
When the power supply of the device is damaged or if the device itself is dam-
aged, it must not be operated. Immediately unplug the power supply from the
wall outlet if liquids or other foreign matter penetrate into the device. Before
using the device again, have it checked by a specialist.
Do not open the power supply or device under any circumstances!
Before cleaning the network switch, disconnect it from the power supply (un-
plug). Do not touch the power supply with wet hands, danger of electric shock!
In the event of faults or smoke and smell formation from the housing immedi-
ately pull the plug-in power supply from the socket!
Should water or foreign objects enter the interior of the device, or if the network
switch is damaged, the device must not be put into operation, or it must be
disconnected immediately from the power supply.
The device must be checked or repaired by a specialist (service technician)
before using it again.
