AC CONNECTION / RECHARGING THE BATTERY
Insert a plug by aligning and then sliding the plug on. Remove using tweezers or other small-
tipped instrument and slide off.
Connect the AC power adapter jack to the DC IN jack on the side of the A33 and then

connect the plug to a 100V-240V wall outlet.
The A33 has a built-in rechargeable battery that will automatically be charged as long as
the A33 is plugged in. When the A33 Power is on and charging, the Power indicator will light
red and turn amber when fully charged.
The Power indicator will fade in and out when it is in need of charging.
Note: The battery will provide approximately 6 hours of operation at normal listening level.
Notes:
• Only use the supplied AC adapter.
• Remove both the DC plug and AC-IN plug to disconnect AC adapter when not in use.
• Disconnect the AC cord to use with DC power (rechargeable battery).
Replacing the Rechargeable Battery:
If the battery does not supply enough power (see note in Rechargeable Battery Notes box
below), visit www.tdkperformance.com for instructions on battery replacement.
Rechargeable Battery Notes:
• Each time you charge and discharge the battery (charge cycles), battery capacity
slightly diminishes. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles
and need to be replaced eventually.
• You may wish to replace your battery when, or before, the battery does not supply
enough power to function your device. Also, proper disposal is essential from
environmental and safety point of view. Putting any battery directly in the trash will
harm the environment.
• Do not incinerate.

OPERATION
Turning the A33 On and Off:
1. For AC operation: Press the Power button v . For DC operation: Slide the Main Power
switch W on the side of the A33, under the flap, to ON position to activate the Power
button v . To open the rubber flap, pull rubber tip on the flap cover.
2. Once the main power switch is turned on, you can turn the A33 on or off by pressing
the Power button .

Using the Stand
Rotate the stand down from the bottom of the A33 to optimize acoustic quality.
Pairing a Bluetooth Device
1. Turn the A33 on; the previously listened to source and volume will be selected.
2. Press the Bluetooth button to select Bluetooth mode.

3. Press and hold the Bluetooth button X for approximately three seconds, until the
Bluetooth indicator blinks quickly to make the speaker "discoverable".
4. On the bluetooth device, enable bluetooth and select "A33" from the Device List. If the
bluetooth device asks for a passkey, use "0000". Some bluetooth devices will ask you
to accept the connection. If the units are paired properly, the speaker will beep and
the Bluetooth indicator will light solid blue. If it failed, the Bluetooth indicator will blink
slowly.
IMPORTANT: After step 3, you have two minutes to pair the units.
Note: After you pair a device, this A33 will remember it for future use.
Using a Bluetooth Device
1. Turn the A33 on; the previously listened to source and volume will be selected.
2. With a unit paired (see previous section), press the Bluetooth button
Bluetooth mode.
3. Operate your Bluetooth device and its sound will be heard through the A33's speakers.
4. Adjust the volume using the Volume +/– buttons w on the A33, or the Volume control
on the Bluetooth device.
AUX IN Jack (Side of A33)
1. Insert one end of an audio cable (not
included) into the LINE OUT jack on
your external audio unit and the other
end into the AUX IN jack U on the
side of the A33, under the flap.
2. To listen to the external audio unit,
turn the A33 on and press the AUX
button ak to select the Line In mode.
3. Start playback of the external unit and
the external audio unit's output sound
will be heard through the A33's
speakers.
Telephone Button
When receiving a phone call on your paired Bluetooth device, press the Telephone button
to answer (it will light amber) and use the built-in microphone on this A33 to take the call.
Press again to disconnect/end the call.
Charging a USB Device with the A33

Connect your device via USB to the USB jack on the A33. Your device will charge when

10 the A33 is connected to AC power.
Splash Resistant

The A33 is splash resistant, but cannot be
submerged in water or be subject to constant
flow of water. In order to ensure the product is
splash resistant, close the rubber flap on the
side of the A33. To properly close flap fully insert
center rubber dongle (on inside of flap) into the
DC IN jack until flap center is flush. Insert the

entire flap until flap is flush with the sides of the

Auto Power Off
If the A33 has no audio signal, and/or a USB device is not charging, for 20 minutes, the
A33 will turn itself off. To "wake" the A33 up, simply press the Power button
Troubleshooting
If the A33 is not producing sound, adjust the volume level on your digital music device
to high.

BRANCHEMENT SUR SECTEUR / RECHARGE DE LA BATTERIE
Pour insérer une fiche, alignez-la et faites-la glisser Retirez-la à l'aide de pincettes ou d'un autre instrument
comme illustré. à pointe fine et faites la glisser vers l'extérieur.
Insérez la fiche jack de l'adaptateur secteur CA dans la prise d'entrée CC
côté de l'A33 et branchez ensuite l'adaptateur sur une prise murale de 100 à 240 V.
L'A33 est doté d'une batterie rechargeable intégrée qui se recharge automatiquement dès
que l'A33 est branché. Lorsque l'A33 est sur secteur et en charge, l'indicateur d'alimentation
va s'allumer en rouge puis passer à l'orange une fois l'appareil entièrement chargé.
L'indicateur d'alimentation va fluctuer lorsque l'appareil aura besoin d'être chargé.
Remarque : La batterie a une autonomie d'environ 6 heures dans des conditions normales
d'écoute.

• Utilisez uniquement l'adaptateur secteur fourni.
• Retirez la prise CC et la prise CA-IN pour débrancher l'adaptateur lorsqu'il n'est pas
utilisé.
• Débranchez le cordon CA pour utiliser l'alimentation CC (batterie rechargeable).

Remarques sur la batterie rechargeable :
• Chaque fois que vous chargez et déchargez la batterie (cycles de charge), la capacité
de la batterie diminue légèrement. Les batteries rechargeables ont un nombre limité
de cycles de charge et doivent être remplacées à terme.
• Vous pouvez remplacer votre batterie lorsque cette dernière ne délivre plus
suffisamment de puissance pour faire fonctionner votre unité, ou avant cette échéance.
En outre, il est essentiel de la mettre au rebut de manière à respecter l'environnement
et la sécurité. Jeter une batterie directement à la poubelle est dangereux pour
l'environnement.
• N'incinérez pas la batterie.

UTILISATION
Activation et désactivation de l'A33 :
1. Fonctionnement CA : Appuyez sur le bouton Marche/Arrêt
Placez l'interrupteur principal W , situé sur le côté de l'A33 sous le clapet, en position
MARCHE (ON) pour activer le bouton Marche/Arrêt
caoutchouc, tirez l'embout en caoutchouc sur le dessus du clapet.
2. Une fois l'interrupteur principal activé, vous pouvez actionner ou arrêter l'A33 en
appuyant sur le bouton Marche/Arrêt .

Utilisation du support
Faites pivoter le support de l'A33 vers le bas pour optimiser la qualité acoustique.
Couplage avec un appareil Bluetooth
1. Actionnez l'A33 ; la source et le volume précédemment sélectionnés sont définis.
2. Appuyez sur la touche Bluetooth
3. Appuyez sur la touche Bluetooth
3 secondes, jusqu'à ce que l'indicateur Bluetooth clignote rapidement pour rendre le
haut-parleur « trouvable ».

4. Actionnez l'appareil Bluetooth, activez Bluetooth et sélectionnez « A33 » dans la liste des
appareils. Si vous êtes invité(e) à saisir un code sur l'appareil Bluetooth, utilisez 0000.
Avec certains appareils Bluetooth, vous devrez accepter la connexion. Si les appareils
sont correctement couplés, le haut-parleur émet un bip et le voyant Bluetooth affiche
une lumière bleue continue. En cas d'échec, le voyant Bluetooth clignote lentement.
IMPORTANT : Après l'étape 3, vous avez deux minutes pour coupler les appareils.
Remarque : Après le couplage d'un appareil, l'A33 mémorise l'opération en vue d'une
utilisation future.
Utilisation d'un appareil Bluetooth
1. Actionnez l'A33 ; la source et le volume précédemment sélectionnés sont définis.
2. Avec une unité couplée (voir section précédente), appuyez sur la touche Bluetooth
pour sélectionner le mode Bluetooth.
3. Activez votre appareil Bluetooth et le son sera diffusé par les haut-parleurs de l'A33.
4. Réglez le volume avec les touches +/-
volume du dispositif Bluetooth.
Prise jack AUX IN (sur le côté de l'A33)
1. Insérez l'une des extrémités d'un
câble audio (non fourni) dans la prise
jack LINE OUT de votre appareil audio
externe et l'autre extrémité dans la
prise jack AUX IN située sur le côté

de l'A33, sous le clapet.
2. Pour écouter l'appareil audio externe,
actionnez l'A33 et appuyez sur le
bouton AUX pour sélectionner le

mode Line In.
3. Lancez la lecture sur l'appareil audio
externe ; le son sera diffusé par les
haut-parleurs de l'A33.
Bouton téléphone
Lorsque vous recevez un appel téléphonique sur votre dispositif Bluetooth couplé, appuyez
sur le bouton téléphone pour répondre (il sera allumé en orange) et utilisez le microphone
intégré à l'A33 pour prendre l'appel. Appuyez à nouveau pour interrompre/arrêter l'appel.

Chargement d'un appareil USB avec l'A33.
10 Branchez votre appareil par USB sur la prise USB
une fois l'A33 branché à la source d'alimentation.

Résistant aux éclaboussures
L'A33 est résistant aux éclaboussures mais ne
peut pas être immergé dans l'eau ou être soumis
à un écoulement d'eau constant. Pour assurer la
résistance du produit aux éclaboussures, fermez
le clapet en caoutchouc situé sur le côté de l'A33.
Pour fermer correctement le clapet, insérez la
fiche en caoutchouc (à l'intérieur du clapet) dans
la prise jack CC IN jusqu'à ce que la partie

centrale du clapet s'encastre. Insérez l'autre fiche
dans la prise USB puis étendez le clapet entier

jusqu'à ce qu'il s'encastre dans les côtés de l'A33.
Arrêt automatique
Si pendant 20 minutes, l'unité ne détecte aucun signal audio et/ou qu'aucun appareil
USB n'est en charge, l'A33 s'éteint. Pour « réveiller » l'A33, appuyez simplement sur le
bouton Marche/Arrêt v .
Dépannage
Si l'A33 n'émet aucun son, augmentez le volume sur votre appareil de lecture numérique.
