For a pleasant, glare-free use, always make sure that the
room is lit (especially for the first days of use) to minimize
the contrast between the illumination of the light therapy
device and its environment.
Recommendations on frequency, timing and duration of
use:
It is advisable to start the light therapy sessions as soon as
you feel a lack of light before the first symptoms of the
winter blues appear.
In prevention or treatment of winter blues, it is preferable
to practice the sessions in the morning after waking up.
Make a session each morning in a 3-week cycle during the
dark period. These figures must be adapted to each person
according to the results obtained after a few days of
treatment.
The table below shows the recommended daily duration
according to the intensity level chosen:
Once the session is over, the 6 LEDs flash for 3 seconds and
turn off automatically.
If you have the opportunity to practice at least 15 minutes
outside during the day, even in winter, you can reduce
your daily light therapy session to 20 min at intensity level
3 or 30 min at level 2 and 45 min at level 1.
In general, all people wishing to compensate for their lack
of light (winter season, confined work ...) by light therapy
should favor an exposure in the morning. This morning
exposure,
recommended for people who are late in life (late falling
asleep and difficulty emerging in the morning) and people
preparing 2 to 3 days before traveling east (crossing more
than 3 time zones), the effects of the jet lag will be
minimized.
Light therapy at the end of the day is reserved for people
working at night, for people who are early in life (sleeping
too early and getting up too early) and for people
