CONTINUITY mode
This position will test to indicate the presence of
shorts on an unpowered line.
Shorts can be the result of miscabling or a nail
or staple piercing for instance.
To detect shorts :
- Select the
position , connect the alligator
clips to the supposed shorted line.
If the green led lights up and if, at the same
time, an audio signal is heard, this confirms
the line is shorted. Detecting shorts can also
be done by opening the line at the cable end.
By doing so, when connecting the alligator clips
after having selected the
green led and the audio signal will confirm the
line continuity.
B) Position :
CIRCUIT
Cette position permet de savoir rapidement s'il y
a sur une ligne (non alimentée) un court-circuit
ou une coupure :
- Le court-circuit est généralement provoqué par
un élément de fixation comme une agrafe, un
clou ou simplement par une erreur de câblage.
Après avoir sélectionné la position
brancher le HD GENERATOR sur les 2 fils
supposés en court circuit. Si le voyant s'allume
de couleur ver te et qu'un signal sonore
«BEEP» est émis par l'appareil il y a bien court-
circuit.
