5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating
plate are identical to the mains data.
5.1 Safety guard (Fig. 2-3/Item 16)
The safety guard (16) prevents accidental con-
tact with the saw blade (13) whilst still allowing
the user to view the sawing area.
The safety guard (16) must always be fitted
before starting any sawing work.
To remove the safety guard (16), release the two
safety guard holders from the recesses in the
guide by applying slight pressure to the bottom
edge of the guard. Then pull the safety guard for-
wards along the guide (see Figure 3).
5.2 Change the saw blade (Figures 4-5 / Item 13)
Important.
You can fit or replace saw blades without using
any other tools.
Pull the mains plug before you fit or replace a
saw blade.
Set the switch for pendulum action (11) settings
to position 3.
The teeth of the saw blade are very sharp.
Remove the safety guard (16) (see point 5.1).
Press the rotary lock on the saw blade holder
(17) as shown in Figure 4 and guide the saw
blade (13) into the saw blade holder (17) as far
as it will go. The teeth on the saw blade must be
pointing to the front.
Allow the rotary lock on the saw blade holder
(17) to slide back into position. The saw blade
(13) must sit in the guide roller (12) (Figure 5).
Check that the saw blade (13) is secure in the
holder.
Follow the instructions above in reverse order to
remove the saw blade.
5.3 Fitting the parallel stop (Figure 6 / Item 14)
The parallel stop (14) enables you to saw parallel
cuts.
Undo the two locking screws (9) on the soleplate
(15).

Now slide the parallel stop (14) into the guide on
the soleplate (9). You can fit the parallel stop
2
(14) on either the left or right of the tool.
650 nm
The guide strip must always face downwards. Fix
≤ 1 mW
the required distance using the measurement
scale on the parallel stop (14) and tighten the
locking screws (15) again.
5.4 Adjusting the soleplate for miter cuts (Figures
7-8)
Undo the two screws for the soleplate (19) on the
underside of the adjustable soleplate (9) using the
Allen key (5) (figure 7).
Pull the sole plate (9) backwards slightly. The
soleplate can now be adjusted to an angle of up
to 45° to the left or right.
If the soleplate (9) is pushed forwards again it
will only function in the locking positions at 0°,
15°, 30° and 45°, which are marked on the grad-
uated scale for the soleplate (10) (Figure 8).
Move the soleplate to the appropriate position
and tighten the screw for the soleplate (19).
The soleplate (9) can also be set to another
angle easily, however. To do this, pull the sole-
plate (19) backwards, set the required angle and
tighten the screws for the soleplate (19) again.
5.5 Adapter for chip extraction (Figure 9/Item 7)
Connect your jigsaw to a vacuum cleaner using the
adapter chip extraction (7). This will provide excellent
dust extraction on the workpiece. The benefits are
that you will protect both the tool and your own
health. Your work area will also be cleaner and safer.
Dust created when working may be dangerous.
Ensure that you observe the safety instructions.
Fit the adapter (7) as shown in Figure 9. Check
that the adapter is secure. Check that there is an
airtight connection between the adapter and the
hose.
5.6 Holder for saw blades (Figure 9-10 / Item 8)
There is a holder for saw blades on the side of the
jigsaw (8). The holder can hold up to three saw
blades. Pull the saw blade you require out of the
holder.
6. Starting up
