Operating and display elements

The operating and display elements are shown in fig. 3.

Installation
◾ Screw the aerial into the relevant connection at the rear of the Wireless Unit (fig. 3, item 3).
◾ Mount the aerial where there is an adequate signal at all times in conjunction with all radio comfort
handles to be connected as well as any available EnOcean sensors.
◾ Connect the Wireless Unit with a CAN bus connection cable to the base system or to the neigh-
bouring elements on the CAN bus (fig. 3, item 4, 5).
Display of the status change:
– With the Wireless Unit, the two green and two red CAN bus LEDs on the CAN bus connection
will flash during the initialisation process. Once initialisation is complete, only the green LEDs will
be illuminated.
– The multi-LED of the base system flashes continually in the green – orange – red sequence.
– The multi-LED of the Wireless Unit flashes blue continuously.
◾ When available, press the "C" key of the base system for approx. 3 seconds. For units with display,
the registration is performed via the menu. Alternatively, the Wireless Unit can also be registered via
the base system web site.
Display of the status change on the CAN bus LEDs:
– Green LEDs light continuously: CAN bus status "OK".
– Red LEDs light continuously: CAN bus status faulty.
Display of the status change on the multi-LED of the base system:
– Continuous green light: All units attached to the CAN bus have the "OK" status.
– Continuous orange light: At least one unit attached to the CAN bus has the "warning" status.
– Continuous red light: At least one unit attached to the CAN bus has the "alarm" status.
Display of the status change on the multi-LED of the Wireless Unit:
– Blue flashing: Communication over the CAN bus.
– Continuous blue flashing: CAN bus timeout
– Continuous red flashing: The Wireless Unit has the "Error" status.
– Yellow flashing: Receiving an EnOcean data packet (e.g. heartbeat of a handle).
If the installation is not successful: see section 1.1.
Note:
Connection cables in various lengths can be obtained from Rittal.
5.3
Registering a radio comfort handle on the Wireless Unit
A radio comfort handle is registered on the Wireless Unit via the base system web site.
Creating a Wireless Device
If a Wireless Device is not yet available or all positions of an existing Wireless Device are already occu-
pied, a new Wireless Device must first be created.
◾ Select the "Wireless Devices" entry in the navigation area of the screen.
