IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using an iron, basic precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
1 Only use an iron for its intendeduse.
2 To avoidthe risk of electricshock, do not immersethe iron in water or other liquids
3 Alwaysturn the iron OFF beforepluggingor unpluggingthe iron from the electrical
outlet Neverpull on the cord to disconnectthe iron from the electricaloutlet; instead,
grasp the plug and pull on the plugto disconnectthe iron
4. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completelybefore puttingthe
iron away.Coil the cord looselyaroundthe iron when storing

emptyingthe water from the iron, and when the iron is not in use.
6 Do not operate the iron with a damagedcord or in the eventthe iron has beendropped,

Takeit to a qualifiedservicemanfor examinationand repair.Incorrectassemblymight
result in a risk of electric shockwhen the iron is used after reassembly.
7. Closesupervisionis requiredfor anyapplianceused by or near children.Do not leave
the iron unattendedwhile the iron is connectedor on an ironingboard.
Burns can occur from touchinghot metal parts, hot water, or steam.Use cautionwhen

you turn a steam iron upside down- there might be hot water in the reservoir.
9 To avoida circuit overload,do not operate an iron on the same circuit with another high
wattage appliance.
10 If an extensioncord is absolutelynecessary,a cord with an ampere rating equal to
or greaterthan the maximumrating of the iron shall be used. A cord rated for less
amperagecan result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating.Care shall be
taken to arrangethe cord so that it cannotbe pulledor be tripped over

16 When filling the water reservoir,do not allow water to drip onto the floor.
17 To avoidpersonalinjury and damageto the appliance,only add water to the water
reservoir.Neveradd cleaning solutions,perfumes,oils or any other chemicaladditives.
18 The use of attachmentsnot recommendedor sold by the appliancemanufacturermay
cause injuriesor void your warranty
19 Use caution while operatingthe appliancedue to the emissionof steam.
20 For models with retractablecords:Always hold plug while retractingthe cord.
IRONING TIPS
• Beforeironing,checkthegarmentlabelandfollowmanufacturer's instructions. If no instructions, startwitha ow heat
settingandtest byironinga smallarea,andgradually increase heat.
• Sortgarments b yfabric type ronarticles requiring a low-temperature setting andgradually w orkupthetemperature range
• When changingfrom a high-temperaturesettingto a lower one, allow 5 minutesfor change
• Whensteamironing,use long,slowpassesoverthe fabricto allowthe steamto penetrate the fabricandthe heatof
the soleplateto dry the moisture.
• Ironlinengarments insideoutto prevent s hine.Anironingclothor cottonfabriccan be usedto reduceshine.
• Ifthe garment i s lined,usea ow heatsetting
• Ensure zippers are closed and flap is flat. Iron over the flap, holding the garment taut
• Spray starch makes the job easier
IRONING SHIRTS
• Beginwiththe collarandworktowardthe middle fromthe outeredges. ron engthwise, not in circles
• Lay shoulder o vernarrow edgeofthe boardandirononesideofthe front.Thenironthe shoulder, a crossthe back
(belowthe collarline),theothershoulder a ndthe remainder o fthe front.
• Ironsleevesandcuffs,working downfromthe underarm seams. T oremove creases, s hiftthe doublelayerof sleeve
fabric and iron out
• Iron body of garment, from half of the front around the back, then second half of front. If your shirt does not open, slip
overendof ironingboardandironfrontandbackin turn
IRONING PANTS
• Begin with the waistbandand inseam area, then pockets and cuffs
• Pullwaistband on pointyendofthe board,as if you're"dressing" t he ironingboard.Ironupper-front partof the pants,
including the waistband
• Placepantsparallel t o ironingboardlengthwise so both egsarefacingthe samedirection. I roneach eg by moving
the iron back and forth along the pant leg
• Take cuff of the leg and bring it over towards the waistband to iron the inner part of the eg. Repeat these 2 steps for
the secondleg

Fabrics are getting an unwanted "shine" • Use an ironingdoth ora 100%white cottonfabric and placeit between
the garmentbeingironedand the iron to prevent"shine".
