7.
Watch the pointer on the inlet pressure gauge for approximately 1 minute. If the
pointer remains constant, the system is leak-tight. If the pointer drops steadily, the
system is not leak-tight. In this case you should proceed as follows:
7.1 Mix a soap and water solution using perfumed soap.
en
7.2 Open the compressed gas cylinder.
7.3 Apply the solution to all screw connections. Bubbles will form wherever connections
are not leak-tight.
7.4 Close the compressed gas cylinder.
7.5 Either use or completely empty the gas remaining in the pressure regulator (see
Section "Safety information for working with gases"). The gauge must fall back to
"0".
The connection must be depressurised when the coupling is unfastened. It is
strictly forbidden to unfasten the coupling when pressurised and using a tool
except in an emergency. This will damage the gasket beyond repair,
necessitating a subsequent replacement.
7.6 In the event of leaks please replace damaged gaskets (see Section "Replacing
gaskets") or contact TESCOM EUROPE.
7.7 Then check the system again to ensure that it is leak-tight.
If you are unable to eliminate the leak, the appliance must be repaired by TESCOM
EUROPE or an authorised specialist dealer.
6.2.2 Checking the pressure relief valve for leaks
1.
Connect a filled compressed gas cylinder (see Section "Connection to a compressed
gas cylinder").
2.
Connect a suitable downstream appliance and start it up (see Section "Connection
of downstream appliances").
3.
Check that all screw connections and hose connections are secure.
4.
Open the valve on the compressed gas cylinder slowly.
5.
Use your finger to check whether gas is escaping from the pressure relief valve.
6.
If gas is escaping, you will need to take the pressure regulator out of service and
have it repaired by the manufacturer (TESCOM EUROPE) or an authorised specialist
dealer.
6.2.3 Replacing gaskets
1.
2.
Take a small screwdriver or a similar tool and clean it thoroughly with washing-up
liquid. Then rinse it with plenty of water and dry thoroughly. The tool must be clean
and free from oil and grease in order to avoid the risk of explosion.
3.
It is absolutely essential that you wash your hands thoroughly before
changing the gasket.
Using the clean tool, carefully remove the gasket.
