take the jug away over 20 second. If needed, turn off the appliance after
taking off the jug.
3. Switching off & Auto Keep Warm: The coffee may be kept warm inside the
carafe by leaving it standing on the hot-plate. Switch the coffee maker off
once the last cup has been poured. The hot-plate remains hot for around
40 minutes once the brewing cycle is complete, after which the appliance
will switch itself off automatically.
4. Power save function: To save energy, the appliance (including the hot-
plate) will switch itself off automatically about 40 minutes after the brewing
cycle is complete.
Cleaning
Clean the appliance before the first use, immediately after each use and after
a prolonged period of disuse.
1. Clean the main body and the connection cord with a damp cloth.
2. Clean the rest of the components with soapy water and rinse with plenty
of water under the tap. If you prefer, these can be washed in the
dishwasher.
WARNING:
Before cleaning, always remove the mains plug and wait
until the device has cooled down.
Do not immerse the device in water. Otherwise this might
result in an electric shock or fire.
Descaling
To eliminate scale, build up in the hot water ducts, descale the coffee maker
every six months approximately, depending on how often the appliance is used
and how hard the water is.
1. Fill the water tank with a 1:1 mixture of water and vinegar and switch on
the coffee maker until all the liquid has emptied.
2. Wait for four minutes, fill the water tank with cold water and run the coffee
maker again until all the water is emptied.
3. Repeat step 2.
4. During descaling, ensure sufficient ventilation and do not inhale any
vinegar vapours.
