Windows ≥ 10:
Windows automatically detects the reader as a 'USB COMPOSITE DEVICE' and installs the driver.
Windows < 10: the driver is automatically installed with a STid Software, if no STid software are installed:
- Contact support@stid.com to obtain the 2 drivers files:
- Connect the reader to the USB port COM of PC.
- Copy the 2 files in the directory: C:\Windows\INF.
Bidirectionnal: by default, the reader is delivered in bidirectional SSCP mode. More details about reader communication are available in the protocol
specification: Spec_Protocole_SSCP_UHF_INDUS-Vx.x.
Keyboard emulation: the reader can be used in keyboard emulation: wedge mode. See Configuring the reader in Wedge mode.

In this mode the reader emulates a keyboard and displays in the active window the characters received from the serial link.
The reader is delivered with the default parameters in bold in the table.
1- Set the options needed (if different than the defaults).
2- Send the 'Keyboard emulation ON' command.

Configuring the reader in Wedge mode

Description of the command
Put the converter in update mode.
Changes the keyboard layout.
Chooses whether the alphabetical characters are displayed
on the screen in uppercase or lowercase.
Chooses which numerical keys are used: those on the
numerical keypad or those above the alphabetical keys.
Shows the current configuration (version, baud rate, etc.).
Define the time between the sending of 2 characters.
Switches the carriage return off or on or on with release
before key pressed.
Add the character " – " at the beginning of the frame.
Add the character " . " at the end of the frame.
Set the reader to factory default.
Set the user ID security reading mode.
Enables / disables keyboard emulation mode.
When the reader is in Keyboard emulation ON, the only
command accepted is Keyboard emulation
