For safety reasons, fit the roof box on the side facing away from the traffic
and only load/unload it from this side.
Do not transport people, animals, dangerous goods or similar items in the
roof box.
When transporting a load on the roof, observe national road traffic
licensing regulations and all relevant country-specific regulations.
Read and comply with the instruction labels on the inside of the roof box.
Store the second key in a safe place. If you lose a key, a replacement key
can be ordered at a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. The key number is on
the key and on the lock.
General notes
The roof box is splash-resistant. Mercedes-Benz recommends placing
loads that are sensitive to water in additional packaging.
Do not enter an automatic car wash with the roof box fitted.
For safety reasons, and in order to save fuel, the roof box should be
removed from the vehicle when not in use.
Notes on care
To clean the roof box, Mercedes-Benz recommends using the plastic
cleaning and care emulsion available at any Mercedes-Benz Service
Centre or water mixed with commercially available car shampoo. Do not
use cleaning agents containing solvents.
Spray the locks at regular intervals with a multi-purpose spray lubricant.

WARNING
Check that the roof box and the basic carrier bars or basic carrier bars
for rails are securely attached before every journey and also during
long journeys. Repeat these checks at regular intervals depending on
the road surface conditions and at the latest after 1553 miles
(2500 km) of continuous use.
Do not use the roof box if it is damaged or faulty. There is a risk of the
roof box coming loose and thus injuring you or others and/or causing
material damage.
