EC DECLARATIONOF INCORPORATION AND EC
DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
We Desoutter Ltd, Zodiac - Unit 4, Boundary Way, Hemel
Hempstead, Herts-UK, HP2 7SJ, +44 (0) 1442 838999 declare
under our sole responsibility that our product (with type and serial
number, see front page) to which this declaration relates is in
conformity with the provisions of the Directive 94/9/EC and that
the following essential safety and health requirements according
to Annex I of directive 2006/42/EC were applied and fulfilled:
Annex I, clauses 1.1, 1.2 (excluding 1.2.4.3), 1.3,1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7
The relevant technical documentation was compiled in accord-
ance with part B of Annex VII. It can be obtained in paper form
in a technical file (9836 4610 00) from: Nicolas Lebreton, R&D
Manager, 38 rue Bobby Sands - BP 10273, 44818 Saint Herblain
- France.
The technical documentation is available and was communicated
in accordance with 94/9/EC Article 8 (1) b) ii in the Notified Body
SP (EU Identification No 04 02) in Sweden.
The following harmonized standards were applied for the assess-
ment of incorporation according to Directive 2006/43/EC and
conformity according to Directive 94/9/EC:
DIN EN 1127-1:2011, DIN EN ISO 12100, DINEN 13463-1:2009,
DIN EN 13463-5:2011
The above partly completed machinery must not be put into
service until the final machinery, into which it is to be incorporated,
has been declared in conformity with the provisions of this Direct-
ive, where appropriate.

Safety instructions
Statement of use
This motor is designed to be incorporated into a fixed or moving
machine. It is either for right hand rotation only, left hand rotation
only, or reversible rotation and should be mounted by the flange
or threaded nose only, as appropriate. No other use permitted. For
professional use only.
The risk of motors being the source of ignition of a potentially
explosive atmosphere is extremely small. The user is responsible
for assessing the risks associated with the whole machine into
which the motor is to be incorporated.
Warning
Make sure you are familiar with the operating instructions before
you use this motor.
This motor, its attachments and accessories must only be used
for the purpose for which they were designed.
For product liability and safety reasons any modification to the
motor or its accessories, which may have an influence on the
product liability, must be agreed upon by the technical authority
of the manufacturer.
To prevent personal injury and long term risks:
– If the motor is to be used in explosive environment filter/si-
lencers must be installed at the motor outlet ports.

Silencers are recommended also for other applications to reduce
noice exposure.
– Before any adjustment operation – disconnect the motor from
the air line.
– Mind your hands, hair and clothing – always keep well
away from rotating parts.
Warning
Polymer hazard
The vanes in this product contain PTFE (a synthetic fluoropoly-
mer). Due to wear, PTFE particles might be present inside the
product. If heated PTFE can produce fumes which may cause
polymer fume fever with flu-like symptoms, especially when
smoking contaminated tobacco.
Health and Safety recommendations for PTFE must be followed
when handling vanes and other components:
Do not smoke when servicing this product
PTFE-particles must not come in contact with open fire, glow or
heat
Motor components must be washed with cleaning fluid and not
blown clear with an air line
Wash your hands before commencing any other activity
General safety instructions
To reduce risk of injury, everyone using, installing, repairing,
maintaining, changing accessories on, or working near this motor
must read and understand these instructions before performing
any such task.
Our goal is to produce motors that help you work safely and
efficiently. The most important safety device for this or any motor
is YOU. Your care and good judgment are the best protection
against injury. All possible hazards cannot be covered here, but
we have tried to highlight some of the important ones.
Only qualified and trained operators should install, adjust or
use this power motor.
This motor and its accessories must not be modified in any way.
Do not use this motor if it has been damaged.
If the rated speed, operating pressure or hazard warning signs
on the motor cease to be legible or become detached, replace
without delay.

Air supply and connection hazards
– Air under pressure can cause severe injury.
– Always shut off air supply, drain hose of air pressure and dis-
connect motor from air supply when not in use, before changing
accessories or when making repairs.
– Never direct air at yourself or anyone else.
– Whipping hoses can cause severe injury. Always check for
damaged or loose hoses and fittings.
– Do not exceed maximum air pressure of 6.3 bar / 90 psig, or
as stated on motor nameplate.
