Overhang
is the distance from the center spindle to the stylus when the
tonearm
is closest
to the center
spindle,
and is indicated
by L in the
illustration. The overhang of the tonearm of your turntable should be
17.5mm.
Loosen the screws holding the cartridge to the headshell and
slide
the
cartridge
backwards
or forwards
for
optimum
overhang
adjustment.
Once the overhang
is set, retighten the cartridge-securing
SCreEWwS.
Lubrication
is necessary
once every three months
(or after about
200
hours)
on
the average.
Use the oil supplied. To lubricate, remove
the
olatter and the drive belt; pull the platter shaft upward; and apply two
or three drops of oil to the shaft and the oil orifice for the motor.
Be careful not to stain the capstan with oil. If so, be sure to remove
with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol.
Note:
For lubrication cut the accessory oiler about 10mm from the tip, insert
the accessory tube, and execute lubrication.
When
you
use your unit after a long period of disuse, the arm lifter
mechanism
way
tend
to lower
the tonearm
more
slowly
than
usual.
This may also occur
in periods of temperature change, such as in the
changes of seasons.
It will correct itself in time, and you may wish to
aid the descent of the tonearm with a light touch of your finger until it
does.
