(1) General
This unit employs many features previously unavailable in an industrial power supply. It
has been designed to withstand the high levels of interference found in heavy industry and
has emission levels low enough for it to be used in residential, commercial and light
industrial environments. This unit can also be used with lighting due to active power factor
correction. The power supply 8-100-240/24 7/8"-7/8" has a high level of reserve power. This
enables loads with significant inrush current to be supported and will also ensure that circuit
breakers will trip in event of short circuit.
Plug connector only under zero voltage (Insert / Remove).
The compact power supply unit is potted and suitable for harsh environmental conditions.
Only for use in pollution degree 2 environment (Controlled Environment).

(3) Features
[1] Output terminal (use wires suitable for at least 90 °C):
5-pin 7/8" receptacle female with internal threads.
To tighten the mating connector use 7/8" 1.5 Nm torque wrench.

(4) Location
The power supply is cooled by natural convection. Protection degree of the housing is
IP67. Switch-Mode Power Supply for both inside and outside of the cabinet with 7/8" input

- front mounting with 6 x M4 screws.
- side mounting with 4 x M4 screws.
Vertical and horizontal mounting is possible. Not for direct sunlight.
(6) Switching on
Check input and output connectors and their connection before switching power on.
(7) Loading capacity
The nominal current is 8 A but due to the nature of industrial loading, the power supply has
been designed to support loads with high inrush currents without damage or shutdown.
Curve

shows the typical voltage / current curve. Decreasing part of the curve
the current limitation. Power supply is designed to give 150 % output power (power boost)
for min. 5 seconds

(8) Series connection [9]
Max. 2 units in series to guarantee the SELV output. With more than 2 units in series, the
output voltage will exceed the SELV limits.
(9) Using circuit breakers on the power supply output:
On the short circuit, the power supply will trip, for example, the following Gladiator circuit
breaker:
GMCB-1B-8 & GMCB-1C-8 for -200 Model
