Cabin Air Filter Removal
The information below explains necessary procedures and tools to remove and install the Cabin Air
Filter (CAF).
1. Stop the windshield wipers in the up (12 o'clock)
position.
2. Open the hood.
3. Disconnect battery (see GENERAL SERVICE
INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS).
4. Temporarily remove the weather stripping from the
passenger side of cowl. (See Fig. 1)
5. Remove the windshield wiper fluid hose from three
clips on the passenger cowl cover and temporarily
reposition the hose.
6. Loosen and remove left and right fasteners from
the CAF cowl cover.
7. Remove the center fastener from the CAF cowl
cover and remove cover. (See Fig. 2)
8. Remove filter from filter tray and discard.
Cabin Air Filter Installation
9. Insert new CAF into filter tray. (See Fig. 3)
10. Reinstall CAF cowl cover, wiper fluid hose and
weather stripping.
Noise Test
11. Reconnect the battery ground cable.
12. Engine ON, A/C ON, blower speed on high.
13. Listen for any abnormal air noises from the
air filter area.
