IMPORTANT
During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice a slight odor. This is normal
and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few more
times.
For your safety, always read and understand the Use and Care Manual before attempting
to use any electric appliance.
BEFORE USING:
1.
Wash the ceramic mug in warm, soapy water, rinse well and dry thoroughly, then
wipe unit with a soft cloth or sponge. Never immerse unit or cord in water or
other liquid, and do not allow water to get into the unit.

The filter basket and permanent filter, as well as the ceramic mug are dishwasher
safe. It is recommended to place them in the top rack only.
3.
Fill mug with cool water and pour into the water reservoir. The ceramic mug
supplied with this coffee maker is inteded for brewing a 12 ounce cup of
coffee.
4.
Place mug on drip tray, plug unit into electrical outlet and switch ON by pressing the
ON/OFF button.
5.
Run one cycle with water only to flush the system.
NOTE: The amount of brewed coffee will measure slightly less than the original water
due to absorption of water by the coffee grounds.

With power switch in the OFF position open the water reservoir lid.
2.
Using the ceramic mug, or a measuring cup, fill with the appropriate amount of
cold water. There are water level markings on the inside of the water reservoir for
8, 10, 12, or 14 ounce cups. If using the mug provided with this machine, DO NOT
exceed 12 fluid ounces. If using your own mug, DO NOT exceed 14 ounces.
3.
Pour the water into water reservoir.
4.
Place the permanent filter into the filter basket, and add coffee grounds. Follow
the recommended coffee to water ratio of the coffee manufacturer.
5.
Gently shake filter to spread coffee grounds evenly.
6.
Close lid.
7.
Place ceramic mug on drip tray and press the power switch to the ON position.
8.
Allow the coffee to finish dripping from the unit before removing the ceramic mug.
9.
Press power switch to the OFF position when brew cycle is complete.
CAUTION: Be careful when opening the water reservoir lid after brewing as this area is
hot and steam may be present.
