Digital input: The PRE5 is equipped with one S/PDIF (75 ) COAXIAL digital input, one S/PDIF (75
digital input, Toslink, USB (24/192KHz), AES/EBU and Bluetooth to receive digital signals from separate
digital components. All digital inputs automatically adjust to any of the standard digital-audio data-rates
from 16/44.1KHz to 24/192KHz.
Note: USB Settings
Connect USB cable from computer to the rear panel of the unit.
Switch the source to "USB" status.
Install the accompanying "C-Media driver disc" in the computer.
Set the "sound" option in the computer and set the "SPDIF Out Genesis PRE5" as default device

Digital output: The PRE5 is equipped with one S/PDIF (75 ) COAXIAL digital output, in order to send
digital signals to a digital recording device or external D/A.

Balanced Audio input/Balanced Audio output: This is a higher quality output that can reject noise and
&
interference in the cable when used with equipment with balanced inputs. XLR connectors should be

wired: Pin 1 - Ground; Pin 2 - Hot (in-phase); Pin 3 - Cold (phase-inverted).

RCA Audio inputs: Connect the RCA outputs of your source to the RCA inputs of your PRE5. Be sure to
connect the RIGHT output of your source to the R input of your PRE5 and the LEFT output to the L input
of your PRE5.
Note: The VIDEO input has a Bypass feature, when you choose the VIDEO input, press < > OK buttons on
the Remote by sequence, the pre-amp will enter into Bypass status. When you press < > OK buttons on
the Remote by sequence once again, the unit will restore to VIDEO input status. Any manipulation of the
remote's controls (selecting SOURCE or VOLUME) will defeat the Bypass status and the unit will return to
its previous volume setting.

RCA1/RCA2 output: Connect the RCA outputs of your PRE5 to the RCA inputs of your power amplifier
(A6).

Power inlet: Connect provided mains cable. Be sure your PRE5 switch is in OFF position before plugging or
unplugging the mains cable.
