When you want to change the filter, rotate the filter-holder disk to obtain one of the 5
positions. The mark located on the top face of the radiation meter shows which filter is
placed under the detector.
The following table gives the correspondence:

With a 5-position diaphragm, a sensitivity adjustment complementary to the radiation meter
adjustment can be made.

ENGLISH
Illumination must be the same on the white reference, the black reference and on
the substance studied; therefore when working in daylight, the measurement must
be made immediately after removing the white reference (the illumination can vary
very quickly when the sky is cloudy).
If illumination is insufficient, use an incandescent lamp placed close to the radiation
meter illuminating the target at an angle of incidence of about 45 degrees.
It is important to know that reflectance from plants varies depending on whether the
measurement is made on a single leaf or on two superposed leaves, on a more or
less light, healthy or faded leaf, on a whole plant or on a set of identical plants. The
difference is due to the variation of the orientation of the leaves, the presence of
shade or possibly soil between the leaves or the plants.
