BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
CAUTION: Avoid boiling the Kettle dry. Never operate Kettle with less than 3 cups
of water. This Kettle is equipped with a pair of self-resetting "boil-dry" switches that
protect the appliance in the event of improper use. If heating is accidentally started
without sufficient water or if the water evaporates completely, the appliance is
automatically switched OFF by the "boil-dry" protection. The light will not stay on.
Try to avoid allowing the Kettle to "boil-dry".
If the "boil-dry" protection is actuated, the power switch will shut off and its indicator
light go off (See #5 switch in Fig. 1). Disconnect the power cord and allow the Kettle
to cool down for a few minutes and then refill with at least 3 cups of cold water. The
Kettle will now operate normally. Frequent "boil-dry" of the Kettle may reduce its
usable life.
(CAUTION: Small amounts of hot water remaining in the Kettle can cause
scalding injuries).
SERVICE
This appliance is for household use only. No user-serviceable parts are inside. In the
event service is needed, return your Kettle to The Legacy Companies, where the cost
of repair can be estimated before the repair is undertaken.
Please include your return address and a brief description of the problem or damage
to the Kettle on a separate sheet inside the box. PLEASE CAREFULLY PACKAGE THE
KETTLE TO AVOID SHIPPING DAMAGE.
