Note
• When using, charging or storing the battery outside the specified
temperature ranges, you risk voiding your warranty and in some
circumstances, you have to take into account a lesser range and
decreased battery charging performance.
• To maximise the battery performance, you must charge the battery
for at least three hours once a month or after 12 hours of use,
whichever comes first.
• Only charge the battery in the specified charging temperature range.
Caution
• If the battery is not fully charged, it may completely drain over time
and become permanently damaged.
• The charging time depends on the following factors:
- current charge level. The lower the charge level, the longer it will
take to charge.
- Battery temperature – a battery that is too hot or cold requires
more time to charge or may not charge at all. Keeping the
temperature in the middle of the specified temperature range is
the best way to charge the battery.

8.3. Charging the scooter

Only charge the product in a clean, dry location at a temperature within
the recommended charging temperature range.
Warning
• Never plug in the plug if the charging socket, power supply cable
or the electrical socket are wet. The electrical equipment is not
adequately protected against moisture.
• Do not charge the product indefinitely. This can damage the battery
despite overcharge protection.
• Only connect the product to a socket that has been approved for the
device. The socket must be installed close to the product and easily
accessible.
• Connect the included power supply unit to an electrical socket and
to the charging socket to charge the battery. The product activates
automatically when connected. Charging begins automatically. (See
Figure 3; no. 6)
• While charging, the status LED on the power supply unit turns red and
the charge level indicator on the scooter blinks. As soon as the battery
is charged, the status LED on the power supply unit turns green and
the charge level indicator on the scooter turns orange. (See Figure 3;
no. 3)
Charging error
Charging is interrupted when an error occurs. The status LED on the
power supply will go out completely. If the charge level indicator on the
product also goes out, proceed as follows:
• Make sure that the power is connected and the cable fits securely in
the charging socket.
• If the charge level indicator does not light up with proper power supply,
unplug the power cable and start the charging process over.
• If this does not solve the problem, please contact our Support team.
Warning
Do not drive the product when the batteries are completely drained.
Charge the battery as soon as the red charge level indicator lights up.

8.4. Effect of the temperature on performance

The battery is usually significantly warmer than the ambient temperature.
This temperature rise comes from the electricity emitted (by driving) or
absorbed (by charging).
Travelling in heat and cold
• The battery is the most efficient in temperatures that are approximately
in the middle of the recommended operating temperature range.
• Cold batteries usually decrease the range more than batteries at close
to room temperature.
Charging in heat and cold
• Always keep the battery within the recommended charging temperature
range before and during charging.
(See Table 3, Temperature range)
• Your battery charges best when the temperature is approximately in the
middle of the recommended charging temperature range. Batteries that
are too hot or cold may require more time or may not charge at all.
Empty battery
• A red, blinking charge level indicator will signal that a battery is almost
empty. In this case, maintain control and dismount.
Note
• It is possible that old, cold, over-stressed or poorly maintained
batteries will develop a high resistance.
• This, however, may indicate that a battery is almost empty, even
when the batteries had been recently charged.
• The battery is then depleted and must be replaced by Hama
Support.

8.5. Replacing the battery

Note
• Never replace your battery yourself.
• You will void your warranty by changing the battery independently
and you will have to take into account a lesser range and reduce
battery charging performance.
• If damaged, do not use the device any more.

8.6. Shipping lithium ion batteries

Caution
You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations when
transporting batteries.

9. Maintenance

Warning
• Do not modify the product under any circumstance.
• Before carrying out any of the following procedures, make sure that
the product is switched off and the power cable is unplugged.
• These procedure are dangerous when the product is switched on or
charged.

9.1. Checking the tyres/wheel components

• Make sure that the wheel does not wobble. Grip the wheel and try to
move it from one side to the other. It must not move from side to side.
• If the wheel wobbles, please contact our Support team.
