The device functions and-terms of use
Turning on power
Connect the power supply provided by TéléMédic (TéléMédic Part no 31-004 / Manufacturier CUI
Inc. # DPR090080-P5P-SZ) to the E
The power supply should then be connected to a standard electrical outlet (120V, 60Hz).
Activate the power switch (illustr. 1 – no. 1). The indicator lights 7, 8, 9 and 12 of illustration 1 should
flash and turn off some time later, indicating that the device is now ready to receive and send data. The
indicator 7 of illustration 1 stays on to indicate that power is on. Notice that this indicator flashes when
supplying is made from the internal batteries of the E
electrical failure occurs, the connection of the power connector should be checked. Notice that it is
recommended to plug all cords before turning power on.
Vital signs receipt from M
Sending vital signs towards the E
so you don't have to intervene.
The yellow indicator flashes (illustr. 1 - indicator 8) during receipt of information by radio frequency.
Transmission
To use the transmission by telephone connection, connect one end of a standard telephone cord in the
telephone inlet of the E
wall socket. Note that you can use a telephone socket multiplier if the socket is already used by another
phone. During a telephone call, indicator 10 goes on.
In the case of a network transmission, such as by Internet, you have to connect the end of a standard
network cable in the network socket (illustr. 1 - no 5) on the E
in an available socket of your networking equipment (router, modem, concentrator, etc.). Notice that the
network has to dynamically assign a network address (DHCP) and has to allow the communication on
the TCP/IP port selected; this information should be provided by your supplier in order to keep the
device working properly through this communication path. During a network communication, indicator
11 goes on.
You can simultaneously connect both the network socket and the telephone socket. In this case, the
E
communication base will first try to make the transmission by network and will automatically use the
90
telephone line as a second resort; for example, in the case of a network breakdown.
The E
communication base is configured to transmit data to the server in accordance with
90
predetermined hours or frequencies. If necessary, you can press the switch located at the back of the
communication base (illustr. 1 – no. 2) to force a transmission to the server.
When the E
communication base tries to contact the server, the yellow indicator light (illustr. 1 -
90
indicator 9) goes on. The same indicator flashes when data is transferred to the server.
The yellow indicator (illustr. 1 - indicator 12) is reserved to the use of TéléMédic's technical personnel.
If this indicator flashes, please contact TéléMédic's technical support (refer to the Support section at
the end of the present document).
