Slack-inov responds to the needs of slackliners with innovative, high quality and continuously tested products to guarantee functional products and verify their
wear time. They are designed, tested and manufactured within a certified quality system, to offer you a reliable and safe product.
These instructions are intended to inform you on the correct use of the product, on maintenance, overhaul and storage procedures. We invite you to keep the
instruction manual until the end of the product's life.
GENERAL INFORMATION
TRAINING AND PHYSICAL FITNESS.
Activities related to the use of device are potentially dangerous and it must only be used by trained and experienced persons. Before using the device, it is essential
to: have received adequate training and instruction and, where required, specific training for the use of the devices; be familiar with the device; be in perfect
psycho-physical shape. Slacklinining (especially highlining) and climbing are potentially dangerous sports. Errors and carelessness can lead to serious injuries or
even to death. Warning! Consumption of alcohol or psychotropics, including medication that may alter perception, balance and concentration, is to be avoided.
WARNINGS BEFORE USE.
Before usage: read carefully the instructions and ensure that you fully understand them; ensure that all equipment is in perfect operating conditions, that it is
appropriate for the intended use and that all the elements and components are compatible with each other and comply with the rules, regulations and directives
currently in place; check that the system is assembled correctly and that the various components work without interfering with one another. Warning! Always
check that any ropes used are compatible with the system. Warning! Do not use a device for activities that exceed its limitations or for uses that are different to
those intended! Each individual is responsible for his/her own choices and actions: anyone who is not capable of assuming this responsibility must not use these
devices under any circumstances. The responsibility of the manufacturer is limited defectiveness related to manufacturing and the materials used. Warning!
There are many incorrect or erroneous usage procedures and only the procedures indicated as correct are allowed: all other possible usage procedures must be
considered forbidden.
DEVICES FOR PERSONAL USE.
Each device is to be considered strictly for personal use. If it should be used by a second user, carry out a check of the device before and after usage and, where
required, take note of the relevant data and information on the appropriate form. Warning! Never use a device whose complete history is unknown to you or that
does not have the correct documents (instructions for use, any checking forms, etc.).
LIFE SPAN.
The actual device life span cannot be predicted precisely, as it is influenced by many factors (environment of use, weather factors, storage conditions, frequency and
intensity of use, etc.) but it is possible to estimate its maximum life span, which is constituted by an initial period of optimum storage and by a period of operational
life. It is advisable to replace them after 10 years of use. Warning! The life span of a device can be limited even to just one use, where it is involved in an exceptional
event (hard falls or swinging falls, extreme temperatures, contact with harmful chemical agents or sharp edges, etc.). In case of doubts on the functioning and good
conservation state of a device, do not use it and contact immediately your reference person of safety matters or the manufacturer.
ELIMINATION.
Stop using the device immediately: if the maximum life span has been exceeded; if it is obsolete, incompatible with more modern devices or outclassed due to
standards' updates; if the result of the checks is not satisfactory; if you are not certain that the device is in a good condition; if it has been exposed to an exceptional
event or a hard fall: even if there is no visible defect or degradation, its initial strength and resistance could be seriously diminished. Warning! Destroy discarded
products to avoid any further use.
TAMPERING AND REPAIRS.
Any alteration or tampering immediately voids the guarantee, and is forbidden as it can compromise the safety of the device itself. Repairs, where feasible, must be
carried out exclusively by the manufacturer or by staff that has been expressly authorised to do so by the manufacturer.
LUBRIFICATION.
If needed, lubricate any mobile parts of the metal devices using only silicone based oil spray. Warning! An excessive quantity of oil encourages dirt and dust to stick.
Remove any excess oil using a cloth. Warning! Check that the lubrication does not compromise the interaction between the device and the other components
of the system (e.g. webbing).
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING.
Avoid contact with sources of heat, abrasive and sharp objects, corrosive substances or solvents. Wash with clean water and if necessary, add a small amount of
neutral soap to remove persistent dirt; use a clean and non-abrasive cloth. To disinfect, use diluted ammonium salts according to the safety instructions provided
with the product. If the devices is damp or wet, leave them to dry out in the open air far from direct heat sources.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT.
For optimal storage, put away the devices completely dry at room temperature in well ventilated areas. Do not expose the devices to chemically aggressive
substances, persistent dusts or dirt or environments with high concentrations of salt. During transport, avoid compressions, exposure to direct sunlight and contact
with sharp objects. Do not leave the devices in the car or in closed environments that are exposed to the sun.
GUARANTEE.
The guarantee is valid for 3 years as from the purchase date and covers for any manufacturing defect or defect in the materials used. The following are excluded
from the guarantee: normal wear, inadequate maintenance and storage, incorrect or improper usage, unauthorised tampering or repairs, lack of observance of the
instructions for use. The manufacturer declines all liabilities concerning the direct, indirect or accidental consequences, including any consequence that derives
from the incorrect use of the devices, including correct use of the device in unsuitable situations that do not ensure proper safety levels.
VORTEX SPECIFIC INFORMATION
NOMENCLATURE. (FIG. ?)

LOCKING SYSTEMS.
- VORTEX with an automatic lever offers maximum resistance when the lever is closed and the load is applied to the rounded part opposite the closing lever (Fig. ?).
- Load applied in any other direction (FIG. ?) or load with incorrect knots (FIG. ?).
MARKING / LABELLING.
On the connector you find:
- "SLACK INOV" name of the manufacturer;
- Batch number (YY-XX);
- "VORTEX" name of the product;
- Maximum load guaranteed;
- Logo warning the user to read instructions carefully before use;
- Type of dynamic rope: 1 full rope;
- Minimum diameter of highline leash rope in millimetres;
- Correct knot to use: 8-shaped doubled.
PERIODIC CHECKS.
Before each use, check that: the locking lever is working properly in its original state; there is no dirt (e.g. sand); there is no sign of wear, breakage, corrosion or
deformation. Signs of wear, breakage, corrosion or deformation, especially in the case of heavy wear on the inner guide, VORTEX should no longer be used. This is
the case when the damaged mark is greater than 0.5 mm and if the edge is sharp when sliding over the leather; during each use check that:
- the lever is perfectly closed;
- VORTEX should only be used with single ropes, with or without an additional sheath, with a total diameter of between 9 mm and 15 mm (FIG. ?);
- that the rope is inserted into the appropriate cavity. Caution! Never use VORTEX as a normal safety ring (FIG ?);
- that the connector is loaded in the correct direction (FIG. ?);
- no obstacle interferes with the connector and that the connector is connected to both the primary (MAIN LINE) and secondary (BACK UP LINE) (FIG ?)
WARNINGS.
The device has been designed to be used in climatic conditions normally tolerated by humans (temperature of use between -30 ° C and + 40 ° C). All materials and
treatments are anti-allergic, do not cause skin irritation or sensitization.
VORTEX INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.
VORTEX is designed to connect a safety rope to a slackline. It has several advantages compared to the usual metal rings.
- The opening mechanism allows the VORTEX to be placed on a slackline that is already rigged and taut.
- The smooth surface and large contact area protect your slackline and leash rope from abrasion.
- The lightness of the Vortex limits the risk of injury.
- The positioning of the leash inside the VORTEX offers additional cushioning against impact.
- The entire device is completely corrosion-resistant.
- The rigid connection between the rope and the VORTEX offers the unparalleled feeling of walking without being followed by the ring.
APPLICATION AS FALL PROTECTION RING.
The VORTEX is designed to connect the leash rope to a slackline system. Any other use is forbidden.
INSTALLATION.
Insert the main slackline (MAIN LINE) and the safety slackline (BACKUP LINE) into the VORTEX by opening the lever.
Thread the leash rope through the recesses of the VORTEX (FIG. ?).
Knot the leash rope with a figure-8 knot as close to Vortex as possible. ATTENTION! The leash rope should not be able to exit the top of the groove (FIG ?).
WARNING.
Before each use have your partner check the figure-8 knots that connect the leash rope to VORTEX and the harness. ATTENTION! The end of the leash rope must
come out of the knot at 8 minimum 12 cm.
PERIODIC DEVICE CHECK SHEET.
Any activity carried out at a height of more than 2 metres requires the use of devices to prevent the risk of falling. All risk factors (environmental, concomitant,
consequential) must be considered before entering the workstation.
At least every 12 months (6 months for use at sea) a thorough inspection of the device by competent personnel or the manufacturer is essential. This frequency can
be varied according to the frequency and intensity of use. Regular periodic checks are essential to ensure the continued efficiency and durability of the device, on
which the safety of the user depends. The results of the checks will be recorded on the inspection sheet that accompanies and must accompany each device (FIG.
XIII). Warning! If the card is missing, or if it is illegible, do not use it.

INSTRUCTIONS GÉNÉRALES POUR L'UTILISATION
FORMATION ET FORME PHYSIQUE.
Les activités liées à l'utilisation de ce dispositif sont potentiellement dange-reuses, c'est pourquoi celui-ci doit uniquement être utilisé que par des personnes
expertes et entraînées. Avant toute utilisation, il est indispensable d'avoir reçu une formation adaptée ou, si nécessaire, un entraînement spécifique pour l'utilisation
du dispositif, de s'être familiarisé avec le dispositif et d'être en parfaite condition psychophysique. La slack-line (dont le highline) et l'escalade sont des sports
potentiellement dangereux. Erreurs et absence de concentration peuvent entraîner des blessures graves pouvant entraîner la mort. Attention! La consommation
de substances alcooliques ou de psychotropes, y compris de médicaments pouvant altérer la perception, la stabilité et l'attention, est à éviter impérativement.
INSTRUCTIONS AVANT L'UTILISATION.
Avant l'utilisation: lire et comprendre les instructions générales et spécifiques devant obligatoirement accompagner chaque dispositif; s'assurer du parfait état de
fonctionnement de l'équipement complet, de son adéquation à l'utilisation prévue ainsi que de la compatibilité de tous les éléments entre eux et de leur conformité
aux règlements, normes et directives en vigueur; vérifier que le système soit correctement assemblé et que les divers composants fonctionnent sans interférer
les uns avec les autres. Attention! Toujours vérifier la compatibilité des éventuelles cordes utilisées: Attention! Ne pas utiliser le dispositif au-delà de ses limites ni à
d'autres fins que celles prévues! Chacun est responsable de ses choix et de ses actions: si vous n'êtes pas en mesure d'assumer une telle responsabilité, n'utilisez pas
ce dispositif. La responsabilité du fabricant est limitée aux défauts de fabrication et des matériaux utilisés. Attention! Les modes d'utilisation impropres ou erronés
sont multiples et seuls les modes indiqués comme corrects sont admis: tout autre mode d'utilisation possible doit être con-sidéré comme interdit.
DISPOSITIF À UTILISATION PERSONNELLE.
Chaque dispositif doit être considéré à usage strictement personnel. En cas d'utilisation par un deuxième utilisateur, procéder à un contrôle du dispositif avant et
après l'utilisation et, si nécessaire, reporter les informations sur la fiche prévue à cet effet. Attention! N'utilisez jamais un dispositif dont vous ne connaissez pas le
parcours de vie complet ou dépourvu de la documentationappropriée (instructions d'utilisation, éventuelle fiche de contrôle, etc.).
DURÉE DE VIE.
Il est difficile de déterminer avec précision la durée de vie réelle d'un dispositif car celle-ci est en fonction de multiples facteurs (environnement d'utilisation,
conditions climatiques, conditions de stockage, fréquence et intensité d'utilisation, etc.) quoi qu'il en soit il est possible d'en estimer la durée de vie maximale,
laquelle est constituée d'une période initiale de stockage optimal et d'une période de vie opérationnelle, mais il est conseillé de les changer après 10 ans
d'utilisation. Attention! La durée de vie d'un dispositif peut également être limitée à une seule utilisation lorsqu'il est soumis à un événement exceptionnel (fortes
chutes, températures extrêmes, contact avec des agents chimiques nocifs ou avec des bords tranchants, etc.). En cas de doute sur le fonctionnement et le bon état
de conservation d'un dispositif, ne pas l'utiliser et contacter immédiatement votre référent sécurité ou le fabricant lui-même.
MISE AU REBUT.
Arrêtez immédiatement d'utiliser le dispositif dans les cas suivants: lorsque la durée de vie maximale est dépassée; lorsque il est dévenu obsolète, incompatible
avec du matériel plus moderne ou dépassé du fait de l'adoption de nouvelles normes; lorsque le résultat des contrôles n'est pas satisfaisant; lorsque vous n'êtes pas
sûr de son bon état; lorsque celui-ci a été soumis à un événement exceptionnel ou à une forte chute: en effet, même si aucun défaut ou dégradation n'est visible
à l'oeil nu, la résistance initiale du matériel pourrait être sérieusement diminuée. Attention! Éliminer les produits mis au rebut afin d'empêcher leur réutilisation.
MODIFICATIONS ET RÉPARATIONS..
Toute altération emporte la déchéance immédiate du droit à la garantie et est inter-dite car elle est susceptible de compromettre la sécurité du dispositif. Les
réparations, lorsqu'elles sont possibles, doivent uiniquement être effectuées par le fabricant ou par un personnel expressément autorisé par ce dernier.
LUBRIFICATION.
Si nécessaire, lubrifier les éventuelles parties mobiles uniquement à l'aide d'un spray d'huile à base de silicone. Attention! Une quantité d'huile excessive favorise
l'adhérence de la poussière et de la saleté. Essuyer l'éventuel excès d'huile en utilisant un chiffon. Attention! Vérifier que la lubrification ne compromette pas la
correcte interaction entre le dispositif et les autres composants du système (ex.: sangles).
ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE.
Éviter le contact avec des sources de chaleur, des matériaux abrasifs et tranchants, des substances corrosives ou des solvants. Laver à l'eau propre et, si nécessaire,
ajouter une petite quantité de savon neutre afin d'éliminer la saleté la plus persistante; utiliser un chiffon propre non abrasif. Pour la désinfection, utiliser des sels
d'ammonium dilués en suivant les prescriptions de sécurité fournies avec le produit. En cas de dispositif humide ou mouillé, le laisser sécher à l'air libre, loin de
sources de chaleur directes.
STOCKAGE ET TRANSPORT.
Pour un stockage optimal, entreposer le dispositif complètement sec à température am-biante dans des locaux bien ventilés. Ne pas exposer le dispositif à l'action
de substances chimiquement agressives, à de la poussière ou de la saleté persistantes ou à des environnements à haute concentration saline. Durant le transport,
