- Switch the unit on. Using the DC/AC pushbutton the meter may
be set to AC (alternating current). The AC-symbol should be lit.
- Connect another good digital meter in the same way as the
meter kit (first switch this reference meter to the AC position).
- Adjust the trimmer potentiometer until the good meter indicates
± 1000 mV (1 V) (adjust the metering range as small as
possible).
- Now adjust using RV1 in the meter kit, until the readout is the
same as in the reference meter.
Mount the supplied spring over the COM terminal, to make sure
that after mounting the bottom the silver surface is connected to
earth.
The meter is now ready for use.
USE
NOTE: For all measurements COM is the common terminal. Here,
the black test lead is used most often.
DC/AC voltage measurements
- Connect the test leads to the V and COM terminals.
- Turn the rotary switch to V.
- Select AC or DC measurement using the DC/AC pushbutton.
- During measurements the display will automatically stop at the
best measuring range.
- The measuring range may be set manually by pressing the
AUTO/MANU pushbutton. Each time this button is pressed, the
measuring range will change. If you want to return to the
automatic range setting, keep pressing the AUTO/MANU
pushbutton until MANU disappears from the display.
Resistance measurement and continuity check
- Connect the test leads to the Ù and COM terminals.
- Turn the rotary switch to Ù .
- During measurements the display will automatically stop at the
best measuring range.
