INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR PROPANE BRANCH TEE
(With Cylinder Thread)
Failure to follow these instructions may result in an explosion or fire that may cause
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION AND USE of this Propane Branch Tee. Installation or disconnection of this
Propane Branch Tee and leak testing must take place in a well-ventilated area.
2. DO NOT make modifications to this Propane Branch Tee, if this Propane Branch Tee does not fit return to place of purchase.
CONNECTING PROPANE BRANCH TEE TO DISPOSABLE CYLINDER.
3. Use only 14.1 oz (400g) or 16.4 oz (465g) disposable propane cylinder.
4. Connect the female cylinder thread portion of the Branch Tee to the disposable cylinder by inserting the guide nipple into fitting at
top of the cylinder.
5. Hand tighten by turning the cylinder clockwise.
Note: The male cylinder thread connection is equipped with a back check valve that prevents the flow of gas until a connection is made
with the proper extension hose.
DISPOSABLE CYLINDERS DO NOT INCORPORATE A SHUT-OFF DEVICE. DETACH CYLINDER AFTER EACH USE.
DO NOT USE THE CYLINDER OR ADAPTER IN THE UPSIDE DOWN POSITION. THIS WILL RESULT IN FEEDING
LIQUID PROPANE INTO THE GAS SYSTEM AND RESULT IN A FIRE HAZZARD.
6. See manufacturer's installation instructions to for Extension hose connection to the male cylinder thread portion of Propane Branch
Tee. Keep brass caps in place on male cylinder thread of Branch Tee is not in use.
CHECK FOR LEAKS
7. Before using your Propane Branch Tee, check for leaks using a mild soapy water solution. DO NOT use matches, lighters or open
flame to check for leaks, this could result in an explosion. A expanding bubble or bubbles indicate a leak. If you cannot stop a leak
by additionally hand tightening the connection, disconnect the disposable cylinder and contact your local propane dealer.
8. Do not use any appliance until leaks are corrected.
9. Consult the appliance manufacturers lighting instructions for correct lighting procedure of your particular appliance.
To prevent fire or explosion hazard when leak testing:
(1) NO SMOKING. DO NOT use or permit sources of ignition in the area while conducting a leak test.
(2) Conduct leak test outdoors in well ventilated area.
(3) DO NOT use matches, lighters or flame to check for leaks.
(4) DO NOT use grill until any leaks are corrected
(5) If you are unable to stop a leak, shut-off the propane supply at the cylinder valve. Disconnect the hose assembly by
following steps 15 and16. Call a Gas Appliance Serviceman or your local propane gas supplier.
