Use the necessary physical protections to avoid wounds due to the
electric and mechanical risks (cutting edges...)
Technical characteristics
Refer to the marking plate on the equipment
- The equipment's characteristics, power, current, speed of rotation, voltage and frequency are marked on the
descriptive label.
- The sound level of these machines measured at a distance of 8 m in a free hemispherical field, is less than 70
dB (A).
Equipment reception and handling
Check the condition of the packing and contents at the time of delivery. Any reservations should be reported to
the shipper within 48 h. The lifting is made with belts positioned under the box. The handling can be realized on
the ground with a pallet truck.
The equipment must be placed on a level floor to prevent warping.
Under no circumstances should standard models be fitted vertically or at an angle, as this would generate
shearing forces in the vibration-damping turbine and motor mountings.
CT and CTF units are fitted with smooth intake and exhaust sleeves designed to receive ventilation shafts. The
fixation of the connecting accessories is made by means of lived autoboring or of steel rivets.
Any units with unconnected openings must be fitted with safety grilles.
Transmission system inspection
Before the inspection :
1. Cut the electrical power.
2. Open the lateral trap.
3. Then check the belt tension: F~10mm for a force of:
10 daN on SPZ / 25 daN on SPA / 50 daN on SPB.
Nota : At start, after 30 minutes of operation of the device, tighten the belt
one more time. Then check the belt tension at each cleaning or 1 time per
year.
Electrical connections
Only qualified technicians are to carry out electrical connection work.
Turn off electrical power for the complete stop of elements before intervening.
Access to the motor is done by lateral trap
- Check that the equipment's voltage, frequency and number of phases match those available onsite.
- Follow the manufacturer's wiring indications on the diagram in the terminal box when connecting the unit.
- Check that the fan turns in the direction indicated by the arrow on the flange of the unit. Ensure this is true of
both speeds on two-speed motors.
- To use the equipment with a starter, frequency controller or electrical control panel, refer to the instructions
supplied with these devices

Installation

The 2 speed motors are for units of dual use Ventilation (example:
Smoke extraction + Comfort)
- Connect the motor following the indications of the manufacturer of the diagram in the terminal box.
- Check that the direction of rotation of the turbine is the same as that indicated by the arrow shown in this scroll
and for each speed in the case of a two-speed motor.
- The use of the device must be done via a frequency inverter or a relay box, refer to the respective manuals of
these.
- It's obligatory to install a padlockable power switch next to the equipment and overload safety devices for each
speed. It is the installer's responsibility to fulfil these obligations. The necessary element can be supplied.
Maintenance and servicing
Maintenance must be realized by technically qualified staff.
In case of breakdown, accident or maintenance, turn off electric power (dynamic version only) and wait until the
entire stop of the fan before any intervention
The turbine and motor are ready-greased sealed bearings.
Belt tension and wear should be checked periodically.
Clean the fan and motor unit every year.
Use the same belt(s) if you change them.
Regular maintenance of filters and UVNR helps maintain performance and energy efficiency.
The EU4/G4 synthetic filters initially create a pressure drop of around 30 Pa which should not be allowed to
exceed 150Pa when clogged. A pressure gauge installed by the installer can be used to check clogging levels.
Filters can be washed by soaking in warm water (max.40°C) and detergent (e.g. Teepol), then rinsing in clean
water. Check that filters are completely dry before refitting.
