Remove the battery earth cable.
1.
Make entrance to both rearlight units.
Drill a 11 mm large hole underneath the right rearlight unit and a 13 mm large hole underneath the left rearlight unit.
2.
Carefully remove all metal particles and treat the edges with anti-rust paint.
Put the grommets in the holes.
3.
Route the wiring harness in the boot.
Lead the end with the brown and green wire through the right grommet to the socket.
Lead the end with the blue, grey, black, yellow, red and white wire through the left grommet to the socket.
Lead both ends under the vehicle to the socket.
(Careful, hot exhaust!)
Tie both parts with the supplied cable ties.
Pull the rubber coverplate over the wiring harness.
Remove the contactholder from the socket and fit the wires as indicated:
Trailer lighting:
Left turn signal
Rearfoglight
Earth
Right turn signal
Right taillight
Brakelights
Left taillight
Rearfoglight
Mount the socket to the towbar.
Near both rearlight units connectors are located.
4.
Disconnect these connectors.
Connect the connectors of the wiring harness with the green and brown wire at the right-hand side.
Connect the connectors of the wiring harness with the yellow, black and red wire at the left-hand side.
Fit the white wire at the left-hand side to chassis earth.
5.
Connecting the rearfoglight:
Mount the relay socket in the vehicle and fit the relay with number 20.200.100 in the relay socket.
Near the left rearlight unit a 2-pole connector for the rearfoglights is located.
Fit the 2-pole connectors of the wiring harness between this connector.
6.
Reconnect the battery and check all electric functions, with trailer/caravan connected.
Reinstall disassembled parts.
