1.
Remove the battery earth cable.
Remove side covering in the back of the car and open the entrance to the rear light units.
2.
Drill a 13mm hole at the back of the trunk, just behind the socket-plate or use an existing hole.
Remove carefully all metal particles around the hole and treat it with anti-rust paint.
Fit the rubber grommet in the hole.
3.
Route the wiring harness in the boot and lead the 8-pole end through the hole to the socket.
Pull the coverplate over the harness.
Remove the contactholder from the socket and fit the wires as follows:
Trailer lighting:
Left turn signal
Rearfoglight
Earth
Right turn signal
Right taillight
Brakelights
Left taillight
Rearfoglight
Fit the socket to the towbarplate.
4.
Connect the other ends of the wire-harness as follows.
On both rearlight-units a connector is located. Disconnect them.
Connect the green and brown wires of the wiring harness to the right side connector.
Do the same with the other wires on the left side.
Fit the white wire to chassis earth.
5.
Reconnect the battery and check all electric functions, with trailer/caravan connected.
Reinstall disassembled parts.
