1.
Disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle battery.
2.
Unclip and remove the electrical harness plug from the MAS (Mass Air Sensor). (Fig. 1)
3.
Unclip and remove the intake hose from the MAS. (Fig. 2)
4.
Unclip the auxiliary air pump feed pipe from the air box lid. (Fig. 3)
5.
Remove the air box feed pipe from the scoop located on the slam panel. (Fig. 4)
6.
Undo the air box mounting bolt & remove the complete air box assembly from the vehicle.
(Fig. 5&6)
7.
Unscrew & remove the scoop from the slam panel. (Fig. 7)
8.
Firmly grip the clip end of the auxiliary air feed pipe & twist while pulling until the clip end
separates from the pipe. (it may be necessary to warm the pipe end with a heat gun / hair drier
to aid in removal of the clip end, ensure all safety precautions are taken when carrying out this
operation). (Fig. 8)
9.
Fit the new breather filter into the air pump hose & secure using the #20 hose clip supplied.
Secure the pipe / filter using a plastic tie as shown. (Fig. 9&10)
10. Assemble the saddle bracket / mounting bracket using the hardware supplied. (Fig.11)
11. Unbolt & remove the rear gearbox-mounting bolt. Position the 2 large flat washers either side of
the large hole on the new mounting bracket & secure the bracket assembly to the gearbox
mounting using the M10 bolt supplied. (Fig.12&13)
12. Unscrew & carefully remove the MAS from the air box assembly. (Fig.14&15)
13. Fit the rubber filter adaptor onto the MAS. (Fig.16)
14. Refit the MAS into the intake hose and secure using the original clip. (Fig.17)
15. Place the rubber filter adaptor / MAS onto the saddle bracket assembly. Fit the #64 hose clip
around the saddle bracket / filter adaptor, do not tighten at this time. (Fig.18)
16. Fit the air filter onto the filter adaptor / saddle bracket & now tighten the #64 hose clip
supplied (Ensure the clip secures the air filter assembly to the saddle bracket). (Fig.19&20)
17. Reconnect the electrical harness plug to the MAS. (Fig.21)
18. Carefully expand the flexi cold air hose. Feed the hose down the back of the engine to the lower
under tray & secure the top of the hose to finish approx. 4" / 10cm from the air filter using a
plastic tie supplied. (Fig.22)
19. Taking the necessary safety precautions as per manufacturers instructions raise the front of
the vehicle. Drill two 4mm holes in the lower under tray & secure the hose to the under tray
using a plastic tie supplied (Ensure the hose is secured away from the drive shaft using a
plastic tie supplied). (Fig.23)
20. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
21. Carry out a final check of the height / alignment of the K&N induction system before starting the
engine. Installation is now complete.

WARNING: Before starting the engine carry out a
final fitment check of the K&N performance kit. It will
be necessary for all intake systems to be checked
periodically for realignment, clearance and tightening
of all connections. Failure to follow the above
instructions or proper maintenance may void the
warranty.
FILTER MAINTENANCE: K&N suggests checking the
filter periodically for excessive dirt build-up. When the
element
becomes covered in dirt (or once a year), service it
according to the instructions on the Recharger
service kit available from your K&N dealer, part
number 99-
5003EU.
