1.
Remove the battery earth cable.
Remove covering in the back of the car and open the entrance to the rear light units.
Remove also the right rear panel.
2.
Drill a 13 mm hole in the back of the trunk, behind the socket plate of the towbar or use an existing hole.
Remove carefully all metal particles around the hole and treat it with anti-rust paint.
Fit the rubber grommet in the hole.
3.
Route the wiring harness in the boot and lead the 8-pole end through the hole to the socket.
Pull the coverplate over the harness.
Remove the contactholder from the socket and fit the wires as follows:
Trailer lighting:
Left turn signal
Rearfoglight
Earth
Right turn signal
Right taillight
Brakelights
Left taillight
Rearfoglight
4.
On both rearlight-units a connector is located.
Disconnect them.
Connect the brown and green wiring harness end with the connectors on the right side.
Connect the black, red and yellow wiring harness end corresponding with the connectors on the left side.
Fit the white wire to chassis earth.
5.
Disconnect the 6-pole connector which is located at the backside above the right hinge of the lid.
Connect the grey and blue wiring harness end between this connector.
6.
Reconnect the battery and check all electric functions, with trailer/caravan connected.
Reinstall disassembled parts.
