3.7.1. Questions on the S&SO-RS100 io?
Observations
The roller shutter does
not operate.
The roller shutter detects
obstacles more or less
quickly.
If the roller shutter still does not operate, contact a home motorisation and automation professional.
3.7.2. Obstacle detection when moving downwards and Smart Protect
Automatic obstacle detection protects the roller shutter apron and allows for any obstacles to be
removed.
Thanks to the intelligent and self-adaptive Smart Protect function, the S&SO-RS100 io automatically
selects the most suitable obstacle detection sensitivity for the roller shutter. This function allows the
motorised roller shutter to adapt its behaviour throughout its life taking into account its installation,
its environment, as well as its ageing.
During the first 9 cycles, the Smart Protect function learns its environment: the roller shutter is
protected by a standard detection sensitivity. Then, the most appropriate sensitivity is defined,
and re-evaluated continuously.
If the roller shutter apron comes up against an obstacle

when moving down then, depending on the position of
the obstacle:
• Either the roller shutter stops automatically.
• Or it stops and is raised again automatically.
If an obstacle is detected following an automatic
order (initiated by a clock, a sensor, or TaHoma), the
down order is automatically repeated. If the obstacle
is found once again, the roller shutter stops and rises
automatically.
3.7.3. Frost protection when moving upwards
If the S&SO-RS100 io detects resistance, it stops automatically to protect the roller shutter

Possible causes

The overheating protection on the drive
has been activated. The temperature
protection of S&SO-RS100 io takes
several parameters into account and
can therefore be triggered to protect
it even though the tube temperature
is not high.
The Smart Protect function
automatically adjusts the obstacle
detection sensitivity so as not to
generate untimely stoppage
(e.g. slight friction in the guide rails).
Check the battery and replace it as required.
