12805 Deutsch-Type Connector & Harness Kit for FlexMod Series
This kit contains: 1 Dark grey connector shell, 1 Black wire & terminal assembly,
1 Blue wire & terminal assembly, 1 Red wire & terminal assembly, 1 White wire &
terminal assembly, 1 Violet wire & terminal assembly, 1 Orange wire & terminal
assembly, 5 Blank hole plugs, and 1 Green locking wedge
Installation
Assemble the 12805 Harness Kit in the following sequence:
1. Look at the terminal location guidelines on the back of
this document. Select the appropriate one for the product
you are connecting to, and match the wire colors to the
locations (1-8).
2. Identify the terminal location using the numbers on the
back of the connector. Terminals 1-4 are on one side, and
terminals 5-8 are on the other side.
3. Find the right wire color for the terminal location you are
going to fill, and grip the connector body with one hand
with the back showing (see picture).
4. With the other hand grip the wire assembly at the tail
end of the female pin, press the pin through the rubber
grommet. Continue pushing (the terminal will not be
visible) until you hear the pin click home.
5. Pull on the wire. It should not back out at all.
6. Repeat for all wires, then plug all empty terminal
locations with the blank hole plugs. (If you do not do this
step the connector is not sealed and it could allow water
to get into the connection and potentially damage the
electronic device.)
7 . Make sure all the locking tabs are fully engaged (look for
any that are out of alignment). Then press the locking
wedge into the front of the connector until it snaps
home. Make sure the wings of the locking wedge
capture the seal and it is seated flush to the seal. If it will
not seat, check the locking tabs, as they will prevent the
lock from seating.
