Cleaning and protection

Which cleaning agents should be used and
where are they available?
Stahlfix: supermarkets, department stores,
chemists.
Collo profi: chemists.
Scraper: (with blade) chemists, D.I.Y. stores.
What you should not use
Abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents such
as grill or oven spray, stain and rust remover,
scouring sand etc.
Scratches can also occur
if grains of sand are rubbed over the hob with
the pan (when cleaning vegetables, for
example).
Sharp edges on the pans
Sliding pans across the surface of the hob can
cause scratches, take particular care with
cast iron pans.
Anything which can melt
Plastic, aluminium foil and especially food
containing sugar, should be kept away from
the hob when it is hot.
Should anything accidentally melt on the hob
despite these precautions, remove it
immediately with the scraper to prevent
permanent damage.
Damage caused by foods with a high sugar
content
This can be prevented to a great extent by
treating the glass plate regularly with Collo
Profi. This cleaning agent applies a protective
layer of silicone film onto the hob. However
this silicone layer will not resist the high
temperatures of the cooking zones for very
long and must therefore be reapplied
regularly.
