External electrical supply connection
Made with a JACK type connector.
When used with a patient who is in recovery room, Air Liq-
uide Medical Systems strongly recommends using the cable
clamp 20 on the side of the equipment to ensure optimum
safety against accidental unplugging. The cable clamp must
be fixed on the rear part of the unit approximately 5 cm from
the electrical outlet.

Flowrate sensor connection nozzles
They are used to connect the double tubing of the flowrate sensor allowing

the measurement of flowrates and patient volumes:
• The blue nozzle corresponds to the blue tube on the pa-
tient's side;

• The white nozzle corresponds to the colourless tube on
the machine side.

22 Ambient air intake and battery access cover
Incoming air is filtered by a foam pad.
The air intake must remain totally unobstructed.
The housing 22 contains a battery pack, NiCd 700 mAh
type (8 elements of 1.2 V in series).
OSIRIS 3 can function on this internal battery pack or from

the mains supply. The battery pack charges when the equip-
ment is connected to the mains supply
electrical supply unit.
Use only the mains adapter and the battery pack
specified and supplied by Air Liquide Medical Systems.
Using any other adapter or battery pack releases Air Liquide
Medical Systems free of any responsibility.
A new battery will only provide maximum performance
when it has been charged and discharged two or three
times!
23 Manufacturer's plate
This plate indicates the serial number of the equipment, and
indicates that OSIRIS 3 conforms to European directive
93/42/CEE for medical apparatus.
