Basic operations
The setup menu can be operated only from the remote
control.
1 Press SETUP/TM while the player is
stopped.
The setup menu is displayed.

2 Use ik to move the cursor (the
yellow-highlighted area) to the setting
to be changed.
3 Press DISC ENTER.
The menu screen for the item you selected will be
displayed.
4 Use ik to move the cursor to the
desired setting.
5 Press DISC ENTER to enter your
selection.
The selected setting will be saved, and the display
returns to the main setup screen of step 1.
For some settings, however, the screen will
display a more detailed menu. Follow the
directions shown on the screen.
6 Press SETUP/TM to exit the setup
menu.
To return to the previous screen
Press RETURNv.
To exit the setup menu
Press SETUP/TM.
To confirm your setting
1 Follow steps 1 to 4 above to display the setting you
want to confirm.
2 Press SETUP/TM to exit the setup menu without
making changes.

Notes
• If you pressed RETURNv or SETUP/TM before
pressing DISC ENTER to enter your selection, you
return to the previous screen or exit the setup menu,
respectively, without saving your selection. Any
selection you entered by pressing DISC ENTER will
be saved. If you are uncertain of your present setup,
follow "To confirm your setting", above.
• While the setup screen is displayed, you will not be
able to load or unload a disc or perform other
operations. Press SETUP/TM again to exit the setup
menu first.

GUIDE MESSAGE
Sets whether or not to show the on-screen guide display
at the upper right side of the TV screen.
The default setting is "ON".
1 Select "On-screen Menu" in the setup
menu. Then press DISC ENTER.
2 Select "Guide Message" and press DISC
ENTER.
3 Select the desired setting and press DISC
ENTER.
