5. Troubleshooting

Before Requesting Service check the following guide for possible cause of a problem before
contacting service.
Symptom
No power
No picture
No sound
The playback picture
is of poor quality
DVD player does not

Solution
• Correctly connect the power cord to a wall outlet.
• Select the correct picture input on the TV.
• Connect the picture connector to the TV correctly.
• Turn on the TV.
• Check the audio connections.
• If you are using an AV receiver check a
different connector or input settings.
• Clean up the disk.
• Insert a disc if there is no disc in the drive.
• Insert a suitable disc in a supported format.
• Clean the disc.
• Insert the disc in the correct direction.
• Disable the age lock or change its level.
• Clean the device with a cloth
moistened with alcohol.
• Clean the disc.
• Correctly connect the speakers
and their components.
• Move the TV away from the audio equipment.
• Point the remote control at the
infrared sensor of the DVD.
• Use the remote control within 5m.
• Remove the obstacles.
• Replace the batteries in the
remote with working ones.
• If the picture is distorted or smudged, check that
the color system is set to match that of the TV set.
• The DVD software is blocking the
function at the moment.
• The software does not support this function.
• The function is not available at the moment.
