6. Troubleshooting
If the expected performance is unachievable after installation of the air vent, read chapter 4
again and check the following points to take appropriate corrective measures.
Problem
No initial air Air is not reaching the vent because the liquid
in the piping is not being displaced by air
discharged or
discharge is
Valve seat is clogged
poor (blocked)
Inlet or outlet piping is clogged
Liquid leaks Build-up on the surface of the valve seat
when valve is or the valve seat is damaged
closed
Float is dirty, coated with a film, or is deformed
Improper installation
Liquid is inside the float
Valve does not
close, and
Specific gravity of the liquid is not suitable for
liquid spurts
