STEP 2: installing electric wire
Use the hooks on the sides of the uprights to position the electric wire.
Pass the wire through the lower hooks first, then tie a knot and pass the
same wire through the upper hooks. After installing the wire, tie it up again
at the end.
N.B. Do not cut the wire: make sure the lower and upper wire are con-
nected to each other! After the last connection has been made, the excess
wire can be cut off. Make sure the wire cannot come into contact with
objects and vegetation in any weather conditions.
STEP 3: connect the earth pin
The metal earth pin consists of 2 parts and a threaded connection. Connect
the parts and tighten well. Decide where to locate the earth pin near the
fence and watch out for roots and pipes in the ground. Push the earth pin
into the ground until the eye is no more than 5 cm above the ground (use an
auger if necessary). Empty at least one bucket of water around the earth pin.
Attach the eye end of the black earth wire (5 m) to the eye of the earth pin
with the bolt and washers (see image A).
STEP 4: electric fence unit
Select a location for the energizer within 4 m from the fence. Put the
rainproof device in a place where it is clearly visible from the house or
terrace (screws and plugs included).
The blue clip with the metal plate connects the electric fence to the red
pulse wire. Close the clip around the lower electric wire with the wire in the
inlet. N.B. Once you close the clip, it cannot be released!
Insert the blue clip in the light-blue connector of the red wire so that the
two are connected (see image B).
Attach the other end of the red wire to the red connector of the energizer.
Place the metal eye under the red screw, position the washer and tighten
firmly. Attach the black earth wire to the black connector of the energizer
in the same way.
The installation is now ready for use. Activate the energizer by connecting
the plug to a dry socket. One LED lights up when the unit is switched on
and the series of lights show the intensity of the pulses.
ATTENTION
The lights on the device show whether it is working correctly. Check this
regularly. If fewer lights are visible, the electric circuit is being disturbed
by contact with an animal, vegetation, branches or snow, for example.
Check the area around the electric fence to see whether it is in contact
with something like the above.
If only one light is visible, there is a malfunction. Check the energizer by
disconnecting the red and black wires from the unit. If the series of lights
flash, the energizer is working correctly but there may be a problem with
the fence. Make sure the circuit is intact, check all the connections and
the earthing system. If only one light is visible, the energizer is broken.
SAFETY
Other than the shock response, the Ultra Protector is safe for humans and
animals. Make sure that people in your area (especially children!) are aware
of the electric fence and advise them to stay away from it. Shut down the
system temporarily if there are activities or people working near the fence.
Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use
separate collection facilities. Contact you local government for informa-
tion regarding the collection systems available. If electrical appliances are
disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances can leak into the
groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging health and well-being.
