Before Installation
1.1 Before heading to the job site, install the latest version of the iAquaLink
from the Apple
App Store
or from Google Play
®
®
install the iQPUMP01. Internet access will be needed if you want to connect
the iQPUMP01 to the internet, however it is not required to operate the pump.
1.2 Using the newest version of the iAqualink app installed on your mobile device,
log in to your account, or create a new account following the
on-screen instructions.
WARNING
To prevent risk of electrical shock which can result in severe injury or death, ENSURE that the
iQPUMP01 and Pump are OFF and power to the pump is disconnected before proceeding with
installation.
WARNING
Installing the iQPUMP01 requires internal access to the pump drive containing high voltage wiring. To
reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or injury, only licensed electricians, or a qualified pool professional
should attempt this installation.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or injury, the pump must be plumbed in and bonded. All high
voltage wiring must be completed before installing the iQPUMP01.

Wiring the iQPUMP01 Interface
Mount the iQPUMP01 Interface, using the two (2) screws provided, as high as
possible, and a minimum of 10ft. (3m) from any electric motor. Always mount the
device with the antenna on the right side, pointing up towards the sky.
2.1 Remove power from the pump by turning OFF any breaker which may supply
power to the pump.
2.2 Remove the motor drive service cover.
2.3 Feed the cable from the iQPUMP01 through the RS485 cable fi tting on the
pump and connect to the red RS485 connector by attaching the wires as
follows: 1-red, 2-black, 3-yellow, and 4-green.
2.4 Tighten the RS485 Cable Fitting to secure the cable. Make sure that no other
RS485 connections exist. The iQPUMP01 must be the only connected device.
2.5 Slide DIP switches 1 and 2 UP, so they are in the ON position and slide
switches 3 and 4 DOWN, so they are in the OFF position. If you have a
5-position switch, the 5th switch should be in the ON position.
2.6 Plug the RS-485 connector into the pump and reattach the motor drive service
cover.
2.7 Restore power to the pump.

iQPUMP01 Setup Using Wi-Fi to Phone
After restoring power to the pump, the Auto LED on the iQPUMP01 should turn on.

Log in to your iAqualink app on your smart device.
From the iAquaLink app menu, select "My Systems", then
"Connect Using Wi-Fi to Phone".
Push the "Wi-Fi to Phone" button on the iQPUMP01. Confi rm
that the "Wi-Fi to Phone" LED is illuminated on the iQPUMP01.
Go to Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device and select the
Wi-Fi network named "VSPump -_ _ _". The last 3 digits of
the network name will be the same as the last 3 digits of the
iQPUMP01 device number (found on the white label on the side
of the iQPUMP01)
Return to the iAquaLink app. The app will say "Searching..."
and in a few moments will switch to the Pump Management
screen.

From the Pump Management screen, you can stop the pump,
begin a custom speed cycle, or return the pump to "Auto"
mode. If these options are not available, the iQPUMP01 may be
in a service mode. A service mode can be ended by pushing the
physical Auto / Quick Clean button on the iQPUMP01.

From the Pump Management Screen, touch "Settings" (
Android users) button to set up the time zone, edit schedules,
min & max speeds, freeze protect, and all other modes such as
Quick Clean, Timed Run, Timed Stop, etc. Push "Claim Master
User" to become the Master User of the pump. As the Master
User, you can create invite codes to allow others to control the
pump.

Connecting the iQPUMP01 to the Internet
Connecting the pump to the internet is highly recommended, but not required
to install the iQPUMP01, or ensure daily scheduled operation. Connecting the
iQPUMP01 to the Internet allows anytime, anywhere remote control of the pump.
4.1
If you want to be able to control the pump through the Internet,
click the "Add to My Systems" button.

From the Pump Management screen, touch Settings (

Android users). From the settings screen select the "Wi-Fi
Settings" button. Select the pool owner's Wi-Fi network and
enter the network password.
4.3
Push the "Wi-Fi to Phone" button on the iQPUMP01. Ensure the
"Wi-Fi to Phone" LED turns off.
4.4
After a few seconds the orange LAN LED will illuminate
indicating connection to the router. Moments later, the green
WAN (or WEB) LED light will illuminate, indicating connection
to the Internet and the iAquaLink server.
4.5
Now that the iQPUMP01 is connected to the Internet, you can
reconnect to the pump through the Web. From the menu, go
to My Devices, then select the pump named VSPUMP-_ _ _.
Rename the pump from the settings screen. This step can only
be done when connected through the Web. You are now ready
to create invites for other users to have basic acess to control
the pump.
NOTE: You can only create invites when you are the master
user. See step 3.7 and section 5 to claim master user.
