15. Store idle equipment
- When not in use, product must be locked up in a dry location. Always lock up product and keep
out of reach of children
16. Accessories.
- The use of any accessories, other than those recommended by the manufacturer or stated in the
instructions manual, may result in injury or may cause damages.
17. Remark:
- The safety precautions and instructions given in this manual are unable to cover in detail all the
conditions and situations that may arise.
- The operator and/or user must use common sense and caution when operating the product
especially for any matters that are not referred in the above.
3.3- Special warnings when using the manual hand puller
- Operator must always follow the instructions set for safe use
- Do not pull loads greater than the maximal capacity of the puller.
Do not overload!
Do not use 2 or more hand pullers to pull the same item.
- Do not pull heavy goods aslant.
- Do not pull stationary goods or fix loads.
- Do not pull hot molten masses; chemical products or any other dangerous product.
- Never transport persons and/or animals.
- Do not leave the cable under load for a long time, so as to avoid permanent strain on parts and to
prevent accidents.
- Before hooking the load, make sure the distance between the load and steel rope is minimal then
pull the load.
- There is no problem if the cable is rewound unevenly while pulling a load unless there is a
pile-up of the cable at one end of the drum. If this happens, reverse the hand puller to relieve the
load and move the anchor point further to the centre of the vehicle.
- When the job is done, we recommend unwinding the cable and then rewinding it neatly.
- Never connect a hook to the cable. This could damage the cable. Always use a sling or chain of a
suitable strength.
- Watch your hand puller while it is in operation; if a vehicle is used, keep at a safe distance.
- First get a few feet out to ensure the cable is not pulling just on one side.
A jammed cable can break the hand puller.
- The hand puller hook must be attached to a solid anchor point (e.g. vehicle frame).
- As the greatest pulling power is achieved on the innermost layer of the hand puller, it is advisable
to unwind as much cable as you can for heavy loads (remembering to leave at least 1 turn on the
drum). If this is not practical, use a snatch block and double line arrangement.
- A neat, tight winding prevents the cable from twisting and being pinched when a load is
applied. If the cable should become twisted and pinched, unwind and then rewind a few inches of the
cable.
- Do not use a twisted cable under load, unwind and rewind cable properly.
- The hand puller must not be used if rolling load is on a steep incline (>45%).
- Apply blocks to the wheels if the rolling load is on an incline. Prevent rolling load from rolling
backwards, apply blocks every time you pull it.
Note: any person assisting you during operation must remain away from load, hand puller and away
from direct load trajectory line.
3.4- About the cable
- Before starting, make sure that the steel cable is correctly wound around the drum and the pitch is
equal to the cable diameter.
