• Testing before commissioning may only be carried
out by a qualified person; see chapter Terms,
„Qualified person".
• Inspection and maintenance may only be carried out
by a qualified person using the operating manual.
• Repairs may only be carried out by PFEIFER.
• It is forbidden to structurally modify the PFEIFER
Swivel PSH TSS/civil engineering.
• The regular statutory inspections (DGUV inspections)
may only be undertaken by Qualified Persons for
Hoists in accordance with BetrSichV.
• Observe the technical data and description of
operation!
• Rotatable parts can lead to serious injuries. Care
must be taken that loose items such as clothing or
hair are adequately secured and cannot be caught up
in the swivel.
• Work may only be carried out on a nonslip surface.
When using on a hook block, the latter must stand
on a firm surface.
5. Description of operation
• Swivels are intended for use as part of the hoist only
in connection with extremely rotationresistant steel
wire ropes.

Swivels must never be used in direct
connection with ropes that are not

• Swivels can be used as part of the hoist. By using a
swivel as part of the hoist, twisting externally induced
into the rope or due to load elongation can be
dissipated at the attachment point.
• Swivels can be used as part of the attachment device.
As part of the attachment device, a swivel is used to
prevent the torque moment of the rope from being
transmitted to the load.
