MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING:
• IMPORTANT! Always disconnect the filter from the electrical supply before
removing it from the water or carrying out any maintenance on it!
• SPONGE AND CARBON: Regular cleaning and/or replacement of the filter
sponge and activated carbon on a regular basis is necessary to ensure that
the filter works efficiently. The sponge can be taken out by simply opening
the bottom cap while the plastic carbon box can be pulled out easily
from the other end of the cartridge. The activated carbon must always be
disposed of after usage but the sponge can be cleaned and reused two or
three times before it needs to be replaced. The filter sponge should never be
cleaned with untreated tap water, as the chlorine substance will kill useful
filter bacteria growing on its surface.
• IMPELLER: The impeller unit should be cleaned each time when the sponge
is cleaned or replaced. The impeller unit can be easily removed from its
housing due to this filter's innovative design. Do not use abrasive or caustic
cleaning agents when cleaning the impeller unit.
CAUTIONS:
• Please use the filter in rated voltage; otherwise the motor may be damaged.
• Always cut off the power before any cleaning and maintenance.
• Please be sure the cable plug does not get wet when cleaning; otherwise
please dry it before you turn on the power.
• If the cable is broken, the device should be thrown away.
• If the device is used by people with a certain physical disability or by minors,
an adult should always supervise such use.
• The plug should always be accessible once it has been connected.
• The filter is only for indoor use in an aquarium.
• Please be sure the filter is always working in a proper water position, any
run-dry is prohibited.
• The manufacturer shall not be responsible for normal wear and tear, any
deterioration caused by overloading, improper use, negligence or accident.
Likewise any modifications made by the purchaser to the applications will
cause the guarantee null and void.
WARRANTY:
Flamingo gives the consumer a 24-month warranty for this device, from the
date of purchase. Proof of this shall be the sales invoice. This warranty covers
all faults due to material- and/or production defects. Karlie-Flamingo shall
repair these free of charge or replace the defective device. The warranty
expires if damage has been caused due to external influences, poor handling
or non-professional installation and normal wear and tear.
