This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualifi ed service agency in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. If the information in these instructions
is not followed exactly, a fi re, explosion or production of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage,
personal injury or loss of life. The qualifi ed service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. The
installation is not proper and complete until the operation of the converted appliance is checked as specifi ed in the
owner instructions supplied with the kit.
WARNING: Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifi cally approved with
this appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
CAUTION: Before proceeding with conversion, the gas supply must be shut off prior to disconnecting the electrical power.
1. Remove the safety barrier, glass door, and media.
2. Remove 2 screws securing the front burner in place. Slide the burner to the left, off of
the orifi ce. Ensure the air shutter remains in place. Lift the front burner up and out of
the appliance.
3. Remove 4 screws securing the rear media tray assembly in place. Lift the media tray
assembly up and out of the appliance. Do not discard for 42. Discard for 36.
4. Remove 2 screws securing the rear burner in place. Rotate and slide the burner back
and to the left, off of the orifi ce. NOTE: Removal or loosening of the pilot shield
may be necessary. Ensure the air shutter remains in place. Lift the rear burner up
and out of the appliance.
5. Using a deep socket wrench, remove the orifi ces and replace them with the ones
supplied. The lower number is always in the rear.
6. Remove the pilot hood from the pilot assembly by unhooking the retaining clip and
pulling the pilot hood vertically. Use a
the pilot injector with the one supplied. Reassemble the pilot hood onto the assembly
and reattach retaining clip. Ensure key position for proper alignment (Fig. 1).
7. Install new rear burner using 2 screws removed in step 4.
8. Reinstall media tray assembly using the 4 screws removed in step 3 for 42 OR use new tray for 36.
9. Install new front burner using 2 screws removed in step 2.
10. Remove light cover to access valve regulator. Remove the 2 screws from the valve regulator and replace with
the one supplied.
11. The conversion data label must be fi lled out and attached adjacent to the valve.
12. Turn on the electriclal supply to the appliance.
13. Turn on the gas supply, then light the pilot to ensure the gas lines have been purged.
14. Check for gas leaks by brushing on a soap and water solution. Refer to the lighting instructions in your
installation manual. Do not use open fl ame. Once all systems have been checked, replace the panels and
media.
15. Re-install light cover, media, glass door and safety barrier.
Purge all gas lines with the glass door off.
Assure a gas continuous fl ow is at the burner before replacing the door.
