Explanation of symbols and signal words
Danger sign: This symbol indicates risk of physical in-
jury. Read the associated safety instructions carefully,
and comply with them.

Intended Use

The product is designed to illuminate outdoor areas.

The product is designed for personal use only and is not in-
tended for commercial applications.

The product should only be used as described in these instruc-
tions. Any other use is deemed to be improper. Store the in-
structions in a safe place.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING – Danger of Suffocation! Keep children and ani-

mals away from the packaging material.

The product is not a toy. Do not leave children and animals
unsupervised with the product, in order to avoid injuries!
■
CAUTION – Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! If the bat-
tery leaks, avoid physical contact with the battery acid. Wear
protective gloves if necessary. If you touch battery acid, rinse
the affected area with abundant fresh water immediately and
seek medical assistance immediately.
■
Never disassemble the solar unit (unless to remove the battery
before disposing of the solar unit). Have repairs carried out
by a specialist workshop or customer service only. The LEDs
cannot be replaced.
■
Batteries may not be disassembled, thrown into fire, sub-
merged in liquids or shorted.
■
Never submerge the product in water or other liquids! It is only
splashproof.
■
In extreme weather conditions (e. g., storms, hail), or if you are
not using the product for a long time, switch off and store in a
dry place at room temperature.
■
Protect the product from naked flames and impact.

Use
The solar lamp should not be placed near to other light sources
such as street lamps or other lamps, so that the LEDs can be
switched on automatically.
Position the solar lamp so that the solar field is able to absorb
direct sunlight the whole day preferably.
1. Pull the ground spike out of the stem and attach it to this the
other way around.
2. Attach the other end of the stem to the stem holder.
3. Secure the ground spike in the ground.
4. Turn the solar unit counterclockwise a little way, remove it from
the lamp shade and turn it over.
5. Slide the On / Off switch next to the LED cover to the ON posi-
tion to activate the solar unit.
6. Put the solar unit back on the lamp shade and tighten it.
The battery can now charge up in daylight. When darkness
sets in, the LEDs automatically switch on. When it gets light,
the LEDs switch off and the battery is charged up via the solar
field.
Please note: Storage battery power can be severely impacted
by extremely low temperatures.
7. When the solar lamp is not being used switch it off by sliding
the On / Off switch to the OFF position.
Cleaning
Keep the solar field clean to ensure maximum possible light ab-
sorption. Wipe the solar field (and other elements on the product if
necessary) with a damp cloth. Never use corrosive or abrasive
cleaners to clean the product! They can damage the surfaces.
Disposal
The packaging material and the product (excepting the so-
lar unit) are recyclable. Dispose of the packaging in an en-
vironmentally friendly manner and take it to a recycling cen-
tre.

The solar unit is governed by the European Direc-
tive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE). Do not dispose of the solar unit,
which has a pre-installed storage battery, as normal
household waste, but through an officially approved
disposal operation in accordance with environmen-
tal regulations.
