Blue Light LED Forensic Inspection Lamp
INTRODUCTION
The TRF-450 features three blue light (450nm) LEDs
in a broad-beam confi guration. The lamp provides
a wide coverage area and greater uniformity than
conventional blue light inspection lamps. It is ideal for
crime-scene investigation, gathering of evidence and
forensic laboratory work.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Read all instructions.
• Do not operate the lamp with a damaged cord or if the lamp
has been damaged.
• Never use this equipment in any manner not specifi ed in these
instructions because the protection provided by the equipment
may be impaired.
• The TRF-450 is not approved for use in hazardous
atmospheres. Do not attempt to use it in areas requiring
explosion-proof lighting.
OPERATION
• The TRF-450 comes with an 8-foot (2.4 m) cord ending in an
AC plug.
• Connect the plug to a power source that complies with the
electrical requirements specifi ed on the lamp's label.
• The lamp has an ON/OFF switch located on the handle.
WARNING: Be sure to use genuine TRF-450 replacement parts.
Using another manufacturer's replacement parts could affect
product performance and will void the lamp warranty.
REMOVING THE FILTER PROTECTOR
The outer rubber fi lter protector may be removed periodically to
clean the fi lter. Peel around the edge of the fi lter protector to
remove it. The fi lter should remain inside the protector. Turn the
inner lamp-housing ring clockwise in bayonet fashion to remove
it and to reach the faceplate. Without removing the screws,
gently pull the LED assembly away from the handle, and you will
see the serial number on the edge of the assembly. Push the
assembly back into the handle and replace the housing ring and
the fi lter protector.
You must wear the orange contrasting spectacles
supplied, Use the lamp in low-light conditions to
achieve the best inspection results.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The TRF-450 lamp is designed to be safe under the following
conditions:
• Indoor use;
• Altitude up to 2,000 m (6,562 ft.);
• Temperature 5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F);
• Maximum relative humidity 80% for temperatures up to 31°C
(88°F), decreasing linearly to 50% relative humidity at 40°C
(104°F);
• Mains supply voltage fl uctuations not to exceed ±10% of the
nominal voltage;
