1.
Install the accessory in accordance with the instructions. Please read the entire installation instruction prior
to installation.
2.
Observe the safety instructions and stipulations by the vehicle manufacturer and the automotive trade. Should
you not be acquainted with the electrical systems of the car, we recommend that you have the installation
performed by a specialist garage or a garage authorised by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
3.
Disconnect the negative pole of the vehicle battery prior to installation since otherwise there is a risk of short-
circuiting the electrical system during an occurring installation error. If the vehicle has an additional battery
installed, it should also be disconnected from the electrical systems of the vehicle. A short-circuit could cause
the destruction or the release of components or electronic systems (airbag, engine control systems etc.).
4.
Once you have disconnected the negative pole of the battery, all volatile electronic memories, e.g. onboard
computer, clock relays and radios, lose their stored values. For that reason you should make a note of the radio
code prior to installation. When you hand over the vehicle, inform the customer that he may have to re-enter
data for the seat position, the cruise control, time clock relays or the ancillary heating.
5.
Only use a diode test lamp or a voltmeter to test the voltage in the electrical conductors. Conventional test
lamps exhibit a level of current consumption which can damage or destroy electronic components of the vehicle.
6.
The components must be adequately protected by means of a fuse and fitted securely. All connections must be
insulated and secured against mechanical loads. Ensure that cables arranged in the vehicle are neither
squashed nor chaffed.
7.
To avoid injuries to the occupants, no components shall be fitted in the inflation area of the airbags, on or next
to the airbags, on the steering wheel or in the head impact area.
Attention! An accessory which has not been installed in accordance with the instructions can interfere with or
prevent the correct functioning of the airbag. Alternatively a release of the airbag can tear off and catapult an
accessory through the interior. Either case can cause considerable injury. Make sure that you perform the
installation in such a location that the accessory does not interfere with the correct functioning of the airbag and
cannot be torn off by a releasing airbag.
8.
When drilling holes through material, pay close attention to the arrangement of existing cables or cable looms
and allow sufficient room for the drill exit. Avoid any drilling into or damaging of supporting components, e.g. a
tow bar.
9.
Any specification of cable colours does not release the installing individual from his full obligation to check
control diagrams or circuit diagrams of the device to be installed.
10.
Power for additonally installed electrical or electronic components may only be supplied via appropriately
secured vehicle cables. Use an optional cable breaker if necessary.
11.
The manufacturer of this system assumes no liability for damage that results from a faulty installation or
inappropriate operation. The product liability only covers warranty claims which solely refer to the headup
display product. The warranty is based on the legal provisions and/or the warranty conditions of the system
supplier.
12.
The precision of the headup display depends on the adjustment of the system and provides an information
only. It does not replace the display of the original speedometer.
