After a correct installation and connection, your Polytropic heat pump doesn't
work well?
This table can help you.
First, please verify that:
• Heat pump is correctly connected to power supply and well controlled by
filtration pump.
• Heat pump is correctly connected by water tubes to swimming pool.
• Heat pump is correctly placed (distance between neighbourhoods things)
Symptom
No digital display
ignition
Ignition of fan is
OK, but heat pump
does not work
Heat pump works
correctly but stops
a few minutes after
starting
Heat pump works
but pool water
temperature does
not increase (or too
slow)
Probable cause
Relay is not connected
to "1" and "5"
Phase error detector
stops the heat pump
(triphasis heat pump)
Defrost is working
Problem of gas charge
This heat pump is too
small for the pool and/or
season
By-pass needs
adjustments
No cover
Checking
Verify connections
Check the phase detector
The "OK" green LED may
not light
Check button setting.
Has to be set to « 7 »
Check if the pressure
gauge indicates 5 to 10
bars when heat pump is
stopped
Check with Polytropic
software

Install relay
Invert two phases and
check that "OK" green
LED lights
Once the ambient
temperature is >7 the
heat pump will start
working
