NOTE
Replace the oil as soon as it is contaminated. Used oil must be recycled, never dispose of oil in
inappropriate manner (see 4.2).
4.3. INSTALLATION
■ Ensure that the PTO is switched off when installing the Agrostar on the tractor.
The power take off alternator is an electrical machine designed to be mechanically coupled to an
agricultural tractor. The installation, commissioning and repair operations must be entrusted to
qualified personnel who must always work in the best safety conditions. The same safety precautions
should be followed by the end user, both during everyday use and during ordinary maintenance
operations.
1. Couple the Agrostar frame to the tractor's 3-point linkage system using ball joints (not supplied)
corresponding to the tractor's linkage category, 2 on the drawbar and 1 on the third point axle.
Lock the ball joints with the safety pins. Attach the tractor lower links to the drawbar of the
Agrostar frame and the tractor push bar (3rd point) to the third point axle. Ensure that the tractor's
3-point linkage locking systems are correctly engaged.
■ The installation of the cardan shaft must be done with the tractor engine stopped.
2. When the tractor is completely stopped, connect the PTO to the alternator's gearbox by using
a cardan shaft [Fig. 2]. Make sure that the locking systems of the latter are engaged in order to
avoid abnormal vibrations during operation. These vibrations could cause malfunction, damage
the unit and present dangerous situations for the user.
3. Check that the frame of the power take off alternator is perfectly supported on the ground: the
operation of the device is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN IF THIS FUNDAMENTAL CONDITION IS
NOT FULFILLED [Fig. 3 ; 4 and 5].
4.4. GROUNDING TERMINAL
■ To avoid electric shocks or misuse of the power take off alternator, the ground (earth) terminal
of the power take off alternator set on the frame must be connected to theground before use.
