HOW TO INSTALL THE ETCHING PRESS:
 After taking the etching press out of the cardboard box, check that it has
not been damaged during transport.
 It is better to fix the etching press to a table.
 Insert the handle with the key supplied.
 Install the metal bed plate.
 Before using the etching press clean grease from the rollers.
 If the etching press is not used for long periods put oil or grease on the
rollers in order to prevent rusting.
HOW TO USE THE ETCHING PRESS:
Clean perfectly the zinc or copper plate prepared in advance for one of the
following techniques: dry point, etching or acquatint. For ink and special
chalcographic ink use a leather pad.
It is necessary to rub the plate carefully in a circular motion in order to make
the ink penetrate thoroughly into the ruts.
Than clean the inked surface with the tarlatan in order to get a perfectly clean
surface. The incisions should stay filled with ink.
Now we are ready to print.
Put the plate on the moving part of the press. On the top of this put the
prepared paper and cover with the felt blanket.
Insert the plate between the two rollers and move by turning the handle.
Do not stop the handle during movement.
The desired pressure can be obtained by adjusting the two top screws.
Now you have your first print.
Repeat whole operation to have other prints.
