Commissioning

ATTENTION!
Damage through overheating!
Commissioning the device in a system ready for operation
which is not hydraulically filled can lead to damage caused by
overheating!
Î Only commission the device, if the heating element
is completely immersed in the water!
Note
Make sure that the heating element is fully immersed in the water.
Note
Deviating water quality can reduce the service life of the device.
Î Make sure the store is filled and ready for operation.
Î Make sure that the operating pressure does not exceed the maximum value
(10 bar).
Î Adjust the safety valves so that the pressure in the store does not exceed the
nominal value by more than 1 bar.
If the electric immersion heater is used on open water tanks, all discharge pipes
must be dimensioned so that the pressure in the store does not exceed the nominal
value by more than 1 bar.
In systems with heat exchanger, make sure that the water temperature is below the
thermal cut-out temperature.

Safety devices

For installation and operation, please pay attention to the following advice:
• The safety valve has to be easily accessible. The efficiency of the valve must not be
influenced or disabled by barriers!
• The opening of the discharge pipe must be inclined downwards. It must be rout-
ed such that the opening can be seen but does not present any risk to a person
standing or passing by.

Maintenance

Î Check the device for leaks and corrosion regularly.
In order to remove limescale, we recommend cleaning the heating element regularly.
Cleaning the heating element
In order to clean the heating element, carry out the following steps:
Î Disconnect the device from the power supply.
Î Drain the store completely.
Î Wait until the electric immersion heater has cooled down to room temper-
ature.
Î Dismount the electric immersion heater from the store.
Î Flush the heating element with appropriate cleaning fluid.
Î Flush the cleaned heating element with clear water.
Î Mount the electric immersion heater into the store, see chap. 2.1.
Î Fill the store with water.
Note
Make sure that the heating element is fully immersed in the water.
