• WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD ACID BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE
EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL BATTERY OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF THE
UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EACH TIME YOU USE THE
POWER PACK.
• Non-compliance with the safety instructions or warnings in this manual may cause severe
damage to the product or vehicle and injury or death to the user.
• DO NOT expose to rain.
• Explosive gases may be present, ONLY use the UCB12A booster in a well ventilated area away
from any source of sparks or flame.
• If the alarm buzzer sounds, immediately disconnect the UCB12A booster to prevent damage to
equipment or injury to users.
• Do not allow the clamps to come in contact with each other.
• RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES.
• Never use two UCB12A boosters in series or parallel.
• Never connect several UCB12A boosters together.
CAUTIONS
UCB12A is NOT designed to be installed as a replacement for a vehicle battery.
Keep out of reach of children and persons with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities.
The UCB12A booster is only for use on vehicles with a 12 V lead acid battery
Care shall be taken during product storage to prevent accidental contact between the clamps, exposure
to extreme temperatures, and rain.
Do not put fingers or hands into the product.
Do not use a product that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified products may exhibit unpredic-
table behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
Do not operate the power pack with a damaged cable.
Do not disassemble the power pack, take it to a qualified service person when service or repair is
require. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
UCB12A booster should only be used after reading and understanding this instruction manual.
Ensure adequate ventilation and airflow.
To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published by battery manu-
facturer and manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in the vicinity of the battery. Review
cautionary marking on these products and on engine.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
Do not expose a power pack to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above
130°C may cause explosion.
Servicing is only to be performed by a qualified maintenance facility.
Personal Precautions

Consider having someone close enough by to come to your aid when you work near a lead-acid
battery.
o
Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts skin, clothing, or eyes.
o
Wear complete eye protection and clothing protection. Avoid touching eyes while working near battery.
o
If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If acid enters eye,
immediately flood eye with running cold water for at least 10 minutes and get medical attention
immediately.
